    What's so bad about that? I didn't even tag him or anything. He literally saw the news/video and loved it. Not saying I'm going to post other videos related to other flight sims.

  • Microsoft is Returning to Flight Simulation!!! (NOT CLICK BAIT) 6.1 years ago

    @Jim1the1Squid
    It means "I know". I mean I don't really ever post videos on SP that relate to another flight sim/game (except my first video shared on SP which was a test), but this is pretty big news that I had to just share. Plus, even Andrew Garrison approves the news.

  • Air Defence Challenge RESULTS 1 6.1 years ago

    @EternalDarkness
    Oh I think I know what you mean with the suspension looking weak. Is it because they are mounted directly to the bed of the truck and not an individual chassis/frame beneath the bed? In that case, yea I guess it does look a little flimsy.

  • Air Defence Challenge RESULTS 1 6.1 years ago

    @EternalDarkness
    Well when you put it that way, yea I guess it is a little over-the-top with the amount of missiles it carries (and 3 types!). But it is a flexible platform and can be configured with various weapon load outs depending on the mission. It doesn't exactly have to carry all those various missiles. I'm not saying you should have removed some of the stuff if you considered the configuration a flaw, but I'm just saying that isn't the Jaeger's only configuration. Oh and those HVMM's should be a lot cheaper than an AIM-9, especially an AIM-120, but then again they only have a max realistic range of 3-5 miles around the launcher/host. (yes I know they had 20 miles of range in my entry making them over-the-top-OP, but that was because of a xml glitch with the AIM-9's xml values)

  • Air Defence Challenge RESULTS 1 6.1 years ago

    13rd place isn't too bad. I was kind of expecting to get a little higher on the score board though. Not a win as their were far better entries than mine, but maybe around like 10 or 9. I personally thought the suspension looked fine and fairly beefy, and the real-world C-RAM system is mounted on a flat-bed trailer. In regards to it being "overarmed", there are other real CIWS systems out their that are both gun and missile systems that share the same turret, unless your talking about the relatively over-powered micro-missiles. But by far the biggest flaw with my entry was the ridiculously high CG. I mean even without the Jaeger system, the Grizzly MPAT-V overall just has a high-CG, and it being my first serious vehicle, I don't exactly know how to correct it without a gyro. But Leehopard totally deserved that win. His build was definitely impressive!

    @Vidal99977
    Yep, its coming to Xbox and PC, with Windows 10/PC being first for release. I wonder what's the level of simulation Microsoft is aiming at with this flight sim. I really hope it's not going to be another MS Flight where it's arcade-style.

    I think it looks promising, although there's probably no way my PC could ever run it (and I'm on Windows 7; it requires Windows 10).

    My mind imploded when I saw this. I can't believe Microsoft is coming back into the flight sim genre!

  • The Arsenal Bird Except It's on Severe Budget Cuts 6.1 years ago

    @denialofservice
    Also this drone will come in several variants, including this AI-guided one, and 2 different user/player-controlled versions (laser and recon camera variants). The player-controlled laser drone will have a laser that look like a real laser, but the AI-guided laser drones have that weird-looking laser because with my normal laser, they can't hit their targets without running unto them and exploding.

  • The Arsenal Bird Except It's on Severe Budget Cuts 6.1 years ago

    @denialofservice
    That's the plan. The BQM-165 Midge will be uploaded by itself; the mothership aircraft you see is just being used as a test-bed.

    Both. The L-39 is mostly a trainer, but it can be configured with a center-line Plaman gun pod as well as rocket pods or bombs on the wings. It's more-capable sibling, the L-159 ALCA, which carries advanced radar and avionics, can carry gun & rocket pods as well, but it can also carry the AIM-9 and AGM-65 missiles, and guided bombs.

  • New Technologies: impactForce applications, realistic firearms/artillery 6.1 years ago

    @EliteArsenals24
    Although this is mainly for a user-controlled air-launched UAV. I'm developing another form of air-launched UAV's in the form they are "AI guided" and redirectable to various targets, sort of like my CIM-125 Killspeed HVMM's. Except they have a laser mounted on the nose that you manually fire before it hits the target so you can use the drone again for another target. It's a pretty neat concept, and I did it with my QF-85 Goblin II drone, but it was an "after thought" with the QF-85, and with AI guidance, doesn't perform very good. So I'll be making a dedicated AI-controlled, redirect-able drone design instead that will sort of resemble the real-life Gremlin drones, or perhaps the Weapon drones on the RAVEN from AC7.

  • New Technologies: impactForce applications, realistic firearms/artillery 6.1 years ago

    @EliteArsenals24
    Yep I already read it and experimented with one of my UAV's and a mother ship for a little. I'm not sure about bombs yet, but rocket pods are really the only useful thing I could have on the air-launched UAV other than guns/lasers. The fact I can only use 1 missile kind of kills the purpose of the UAV having missiles; might as well just have it be a missile then. Unless I want the UAV to have bombs or rocket pods (which I found you can have multiple rocket pods functioning), I think'll I'll just stick to the normal detacher, but the forced detacher does give some more options. I also put a magnet on my UAV and was successful at "docking" it back to the mothership aircraft. Although one serious flaw I found using the forced detacher, at least with the UAV I was using, was that the UAV would gradually lose control effectiveness to the point it just wants to pitch down unresponsively. I haven't found this issue with the normal detacher. I've been experimenting with concepts like these cause I want to make a dedicated recoverable air-launched UAV/UCAV/drone that can be used for recon or offensive roles, particularly with a laser or camera mounted on the nose.

    Nvm I googled "forcedDetachment SimplePlanes" and found the post, which turns out it was this 10-month old post he made. But thanks for the pointers anyways!

  • New Technologies: impactForce applications, realistic firearms/artillery 6.1 years ago

    @SnoWFLakE0s
    Oh that was him who invented/discovered that? I kind of figured it might have been him but I couldn't find a forum post made by him about the subject; that or he deleted it. But thanks a lot!

  • New Technologies: impactForce applications, realistic firearms/artillery 6.1 years ago

    @SnoWFLakE0s
    Hey were you the one who came up with an idea on how to prevent detached objects from becoming dead (unable to use missiles or bombs on said detached object)? I'm trying to search for this user that I remember made a forum post this week or last week on how to essentially make a drone that detaches from your plane, and the missiles on the drone can be used, which normally the missiles would be dead and unusable.
