Every flying aircraft carrier concept I've seen has always been some radical concept like the P-1112 Aigaion or the Avengers Helicarrier.
Best way to describe how my flying carrier will be: It's going to be a conventional layout like a C-130 or H-4, it will be a flying boat (have a boat hull since it's too big for runways), it will have an H-tail/split-tail, and it will have an opening at the rear, sort of like a cargo ramp except it acts like a runway extension for fighters to land inside. There will be no opening in the front. It's LITERALLY a giant flying boat cargo plane except instead of cargo, fighters land inside of it. It will also be powered by 8 Lycoming XR-7750-style engines with countra-rotating propellers. I'm really curious to see if this thing will even lift off the ground. But before I start on that I'd like to finish your Goliath revision and finish my interceptor project.
@Texasfam04
Thanks man! Initially it looked like an F4U Corsair (P6A and P6B) but this version (P6C) looks more like a radial engine-powered P-51D Mustang.
@Texasfam04
Yea I've found 2 planes:
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/7RIbMO/Biggest-Plane-in-SimplePlanes
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/f5QM8K/Do-400-D-Posiedon
The Do-400 is more realistic than the other one. Trying to see some of the big birds of Simpleplanes because I plan on making a huge flying aircraft carrier. It's gonna look like a supersized H-4 "Spruce Goose".
@Texasfam04
Oh ok thats good. Then I'll put high-detail in the Goliath slight re-design of mine. And your welcome!
It is a really nice cargo plane. Although the cargo doors are kinda floppy so I'm redoing those, and I think the wings for the size of the plane are too thin. I'm still keeping the wings on but I'm going to make the wing fuselage panels bigger so the wing actually looks like it could support such a large aircraft in flight. I think I'm going to use the default landing gear because of the amount of wheels that are need to support this on the ground. The engines seem fine in the place they're in.
Btw do you know what the biggest plane is in Simpleplanes at the moment?
One other question: How well does your tablet handle high-detailed airplanes? Does it handle my C7 Samson well? If it lags to much from the detail I'll just make things more simple on your Goliath.
@Texasfam04
Ok so I build a flight deck forward of where the nose seems cut-off? Or do I reshape the front a bit to fit a flight deck? And do you want me to just create cockpit windows for the sake of simplicity or go all out and create a detailed cockpit? Heck I can do some real major re-designs to this bird if you want.(although it would take awhile as I have other things in life going on)
@Brc0629
This airplane has constant speed propellers that are manual, you use VTOL to control them to make the plane more realistic. Set the VTOL slide all the way to the bottom for full pitch & maximum power. Be sure to set the flaps all the way down with trim as well so you can get off the ground in a heart beat.
@GermanWarMachine
I could but there are two many parts that will take awhile for me to put them all together after I scale them down. I know how to do it it's just I have other builds I'm working on and of course school and other things in life.
@GermanWarMachine
Sorry I don't, but in the future I do plan on making a downsized twin-engined version. Supposed to be smaller and more civil-orient and better to operate in the bush.

I'm about to upload a new design of mine which has 3,800 HP Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone engines. You can download the plane and take the engines off of it and use it on your bomber.

Thanks for the upvote!
Great engineering!

No problem!

Edit: Found a concept that looks almost exactly to what I'm aiming for. Although the engines will be mounted differently on my design.

I can see you working at DARPA...
Sad to see helilover03 gone. :(
(nvm as of December 2017 he has returned!) :D
An airliner version is currently in the works; after that I'll be making a bomber variant and gunship variant.
Yay my first airplane to reach both 100 downloads and 200 downloads! :D
@Johndfg
Interesting.

I got as high as 50,000mph!!!!
@TheOwlAce
Yea it's huge, I've tried it. But is there anything bigger?

Thanks!

Ok then! But it will take awhile maybe up to a week at least.

@Texasfam04
Also thanks for the compliment!
So you want me to create the flight deck for this monster?
@Texasfam04
+1Sure! I have other builds planned but non of them started yet, so I can help you out on your Goliath aircraft.
