@Dllama4
Well you could always store the casings/eject them into a collective tank, like the F-104 and the A-10, but most WW2 fighters like the P-51 eject the casings. The gun layout on the NA-3 is almost exactly like the P-38 (nose guns) but I'm not sure if the P-38 ejects the casings or stores them. Either way I think the NA-3 is too small of a fighter to store the casings, so they realistically would have to be ejected.
@KidKromosone
The casings for bullets such as the .50 cal and 20mm are typically yellow/brass so thats why the casings are yellow. The .50 cal guns firing are red since they are red tracers. The NA-3 Lark is equipped with 6x M2 Brownings and 2x Hispano 20mm cannons.
I don't think anyone really is keeping track of my updates, but to anyone who still is, the NA-3 Lark is officially complete! However, to really push the realism in this design, I'm trying to design a system that actually simulates the ejection of the casing of the both the .50 cal and the 20mm bullets of the guns. It's a pretty radical concept on how I'm going to do this, but basically the plane won't be ready for upload until tomorrow.
This is fantastic! If you know how to do it, you should have added a prop hub on the propeller because the propeller's prop hub looks a bit too small IMHO. But other than that this is a fine Porter!
Happy to say that the NA-3 Lark is 90% complete. I just need to add the guns, gunsight, and the canopy and then it will be done. I might be able to finish it today, but can't upload it until either Saturday, Sunday or Monday since Friday and Saturday I'll be busy with final semester things with school.
Basically, on the Lark I still have to make the guns (will have .50 and hispano cannons), create the gun sight, add the lights, create the cockpit canopy, assign the cockpit buttons and lights, and lastly apply the paint job. The basic aircraft is done, I just need to add those details and she'll be ready to go.
This is one of the best F-4 replicas I've seen! There was a more high detailed version (forgot who made it) but I love how simple this one is, and while staying simple it's very accurate on looking like the real thing. Good job!
At the moment the NA-3 Lark is coming along very nicely and is about 85% done. It should be done by the end of this upcoming weekend (and uploaded, hopefully).
@TheOwlAce
If I were Ugandan I'd be proud of this meme. The Creators of "Who Killed Captain Alex" find the meme hilarious and have re-tweeted the meme. They said they don't find the meme offensive or racist. This meme isn't racist. Sure it invaded VRchat and has gone a bit too far IMHO VRchart wise, but the meme is still funny. It's not meant to mock or hurt Ugandan people, the phrases the meme uses just sound funny.
I didn't want to do it cause your an awesome builder but you have been reported for using foul language.
@Kerbango
So I was reading a patent I found on the aircraft, and it appears to have a gas-fueled engine, not electric. It mentions having multiple turbo chargers, a pressurized cabin, hidden air ducts in the fuselage, and some other interesting features. I'm really curious to what's powering this thing.
@QingyuZhou
Yes Victorville is on the way I think. The airport, Southern California Logistics Airport (KVCV) is public and military. There is a small airforce base on the airport, George AFB, and on the ramp of the public part of the airport, on Google Maps I can see a couple of Cessna's, bizjets, what looks like a fire-fighting water bomber, and I can see a Southwest 737 and an Allegiant Air MD-80 parked near the terminal. So the airport is part public part military.
KVCV airport also has a pretty big aircraft boneyard to the north of the field and has retired/decommissioned airlines scattered around the airport as well. It also seems Boeing has a service hangar at the south of the field with what looks like a 787 parked at the hangar. It would be a pretty cool airport to visit.
@Kerbango
Wow thanks for the info. It makes sense; a bullet shaped fuselage and a high-aspect ratio wing. Most likely the aircraft uses composite materials. What I'm most intrigued by is the powerplant. A single engine with a very small 5-bladed propeller. On the FAA database it lists the single engine as a reciprocating engine, but it's make/model is unknown. I wonder if it's some uber-fuel efficient engine that uses a different type of fuel.
@Texasfam04
Woohoo I'm gold now! Thanks man! Oh wait, if i'm gold, then that means I need to start on my XF-00002 replica project......nah I'll wait on it for awhile until I finish some of my other builds.
@KerlonceauxIndustries
That sucks (first flight). I don't mind lack of amenities or open space if I'm on a regional hopper like an EMB-120, Dash-8, CRJ700, ATR, ect. since the flight is typically under 2 hours but 8 hours is pretty bad. Well at least your return trip was better.
@Strikefighter04
You can't make the lights brighter with XML modding. I modded their shape, yes, but I didn't mod their brightness. To make lights brighter, you just copy it and place it in the same exact spot using the nudge tool or fine tuner. This doesn't make the lights bright, but with all the lights grouped together in the same exact spot, all their light combines to look like one really bright light. That's how I do it.
@KerlonceauxIndustries
The last of the propliners like the Boeing 337, Lockheed Super Connie, Douglas DC-7, ect. were all about passenger comfort, not packing as much people as they can like sardines. I mean a lot of modern airlines these days have fantastic first-classes like Emirates, Delta, ect. but there are a still a few airlines that have comfortable seats even in economy, such as Alaska and Jetblue. The last time I flew on an airline was about 9 years ago when I was in 2nd grade. I flew on a Horizon Air CRJ700 from Seattle to Portland at 4 AM in the morning. From what I can remember it was a great flight. Now that was my last airline flight, I've flown a couple of times recently with a friend of mine in his homebuilt Murphy Rebel.
@Hammy125 This is the designer I use. I actually build my airplanes in the default grey designer, but when I upload a high-quality build, I use this designer for the screenshots.
@KerlonceauxIndustries
Lol. When I look back, I wish I raced this plane instead of the black phantom. The black phantom could have easily been used in a non-modded race since its a basic design, but the Red Vixen relies on modded parts. The next modded tournament I'll definitely race this beauty. Also thanks for the upvotes and spotlights!
@Texasfam04
No problem! I surpassed you on points so I decided to spotlight one of your builds. The missile defense system was kind of inspired by the P-1112 Aigaion's cruise missile system and the CFA-44 Nosferatu's ADMM missile pods. Realistically the missile itself can only track targets above the aircraft because the seekers/radars on the missiles are exposed at the top. To achieve all-around locking capability, a sophisticated radar and sensor network covers all aspects of the plane. The main radar is at the top, another is at the front, and so on. At least one radar or sensor is at every side of the plane. This sophisticated radar+sensor system aids the missile to achieve all-around lock.
Sure go ahead and make whatever variant of the Manta Ray. I don't think the Manta Ray could launch manned fighters, but they could probably launch drones, especially a flying-wing drone. With drone launching capability, and the ability to launch a barrage of missiles offensively and defensively, it's pretty much an arsenal ship (Ring any bells?).
@Texasfam04
Again thanks! I actually did a bit of research on airline travel in the 40's and the lounge, amenities and all the passenger comfort on the P7 was inspired by the interior of the Boeing 337 Stratocruiser.
@Texasfam04
Thank! I still have 3 variants left to make and that's just for the A model. The samson still has a bomber variant, gunship variant, and a smuggler's variant (smuggler challenge) that are still yet to be made. Not to mention I still have other designs from my other fictional companies that I need to make as well. Also thanks for the spotlight and upvote!
@MI
I'm honestly confused. What do you mean?
By hangar I mean just that, a hangar, or more appropriately, my production/assembly line.
@Gestour
+1Oh yea I almost forgot about your gun mods.
@Dllama4

I too have a nightmare brewing in my hangar....
@MI
It does! More like a super Blackwidow!
Are the assembling kit builds now the new Simpleplanes trend? lol

No problem this is a really nice jet, definitely deserves more upvotes and spotlights.
@JED
Oh I know it's fictional I was just wondering it's role. Pretty cool!
@JED
Nice! I like the golden canopy. So is this a military plane or a civilian/general aviation plane?
Basically, on the Lark I still have to make the guns (will have .50 and hispano cannons), create the gun sight, add the lights, create the cockpit canopy, assign the cockpit buttons and lights, and lastly apply the paint job. William Boeing??? Is that you? Aren't you supposed to be dead?

I might do a replica on it. It does look pretty simple to make.

Oh nice you've flown on a 777.
Well I was just a small kid when I flew on the CRJ700, so of course there was plenty of room, but nowadays I'd probably be a bit cramped.
And thanks about the compliment! I should actually make a replica of it in Simpleplanes.
