Good analysis, but not quite right. The Brown Pearl does exist on both iOS and Android, but Maywar and the Kraken don't for performance reasons. (As a side note, the small unnamed islands that provide general direction markers between islands also don't exist on mobile.)
Modding was never supported on iOS to begin with to my knowledge, and was largely removed from Android due to Google TOS changes preventing scripted mods (read: anything except a basic map mod) from working.
I am curious about this "one island afar Snowstone" though. Unless that's one of the little unnamed ones, I've never heard of it before. What heading should one fly to reach this island?
You need to move the center of mass forward of the main gear, typically by either removing weight from the rear or adding weight to the front. Pretty simple to fix on the ground, but you may need to trim differently in the air after making the adjustments.
Earliest memory with the game? The original landing tutorial, with the 1.0 version of both the game and the P-51 Mustang stock plane. I was really bad at it!
Best memory? Hmm... I think either checking out the USS Beast update (both for all the new features and because the old model was a little silly), or my first flight (in the Wasp) following update 1.11. This game has come so far, and it makes me so happy to see it keep on going and inspiring new players to build things and just have fun :)
As of this comment, you've received 593 points (33 upvotes plus 98 successor points) for... a three part build consisting of the mandatory cockpit/chip, a single rectangular fuselage block, and a label.
I'm not normally one to go all "raaaghhh points" but... seriously?
@Majakalona Yeah, it means that one of the official VR curators has tested it out and decided that it does work properly in VR. I think they periodically go through new builds that have the "VR" tag and curate the ones that work properly.
Hey look at that, it's been long enough since the last one of these that my browser no longer auto-suggests "Advertising" when I type in the spam report box.
Essentially, the site's download button gives you a 6-character file that the game then reads to "build" the craft. You can export the model from within the game, but the site's download links do not generate 3d files readable by other programs. I believe this was done to stop people who don't own the game from downloading other peoples' models and using them for their own purposes without giving the developers a cent.
@Russkiy98 Again, see the "no politics that could cause arguments" rule (if necessary, also consult the "only use controversial iconography/symbolism in historical contexts" section, considering the state of current global events).
Yeah, that's a Google-level decision, not a Jundroo-level decision.
Also, this post will get removed for the "no politics, especially those likely to stir up arguments" site-wide rule (which you saw when creating an account), not based on your nationality.
With some practice, you can also get in at a more controllable speed by coming in from behind, over the top of the base, and then ducking down inside before the missile turrets have time to swivel and lock. You'll need something very maneuverable and fairly slow, though.
Well, the SP physics themselves haven't changed in... uhh... a long time. As far as I'm aware, the physics have been largely unchanged since launch, except for the addition of new physics when parts like the resizable wheels were added.
@MrSilverWolf Apologies for the ping, but could you or one of the other mods please mark this build as a successor to realSavageMan's original build, which this is based on? It seems that the auto-credit did not happen.
Okay, if you want a silly idea...
What about a dinosaur that just doesn't have any articulation, but moves by rolling end over end? Like, say, GMod-style broken animation kind of thing.
@WaterFlavouredSpitfires That's not normal. Not sure what's going on though, but it's definitely not a problem with every copy of the game. Perhaps try verifying the file integrity (assuming you have it through Steam)?
It's quite difficult to get out in time, and I don't think any of the stock planes can do it. You can kind of just cheat it by changing locations (probably to the midair "Pyramid of Et" location) and then pursue it from there.
@HoshimachiSuiseiMyBeloved Depends on how you define "retired" in the context of an aircraft. Removed from active use? Yes. Permanently taken off the list? Not as far as I'm aware.
You could try using a calculator like this one to find how long it would take the aircraft to make a turn based on its speed, stall speed, and bank angle (the result of which can be easily converted into a simple degrees per second value).
Alternatively you could just time how long it takes you to make a certain (e.g. 180 degree) turn and then convert that to degrees per second.
Hmm... let's get a very rough low estimate of the number of active players because I'm up too late and feel like doing this. Incredibly approximated math, GO!
SteamDB gives a player peak of roughly 200 per day over the last several months, so we'll use that as our baseline. If we assume that 50% of active players launch the game on any given day (a total guess, but it seems fairly plausible), we can double the SteamDB average to 400. 400 people seems like a fair estimate for the number of active players on Steam, in my opinion.
Now, if we assume that Steam players make up 25% of the total number of active players (based on the fact that of the 20 current Hot aircraft, 5 were built on Windows), that brings the total count of currently active players to somewhere in the ballpark of 1600 to 2000 people, which - for a fairly niche game that's closing in on its ninth year - seems like a reasonable number. Remember, that's my approximation of the number of currently active players, not the total number, or the number of accounts (active or otherwise) on the site, or such. And it's only an approximation.
There's a lot of problems with this model (not all Windows players play on Steam, the only number that isn't an assumption or guess is the SteamDB player average, etc.) and I'm not really looking for corrections to it because of that. I have no idea whether that number is even remotely accurate or not, I just thought it would be interesting to have a go at it instead of doing normal person things like sleeping.
The simplest way to explain it is essentially as a bunch of variables. If all variables are "true", the engine will turn on. With more advanced things that require you to do steps in a particular order, I think it's similar except certain variables require other variables to be true before they themselves can be true (and then eventually the engine is allowed to start after a series of these steps), but I'm not entirely certain.
Huh, I've never seen the tanker actually turn away from you, at least not when spawned via the "Spawn Tanker Plane" button in the AI menu. Is it actually changing heading, or is it just making maneuvers that cause you to miss the basket?
Hiding the UI is a good way to do it (F9 by default on PC, never found it on mobile so I'm not sure if it's possible there), especially since physical gauge and other instrumentation parts exist now that can still give you necessary info like airspeed, attitude, altitude, and so on. You might want to build yourself a gunsight (or at least a simple pipper) though, unless you just want to aim by tracers, since the default gunsight reticle goes away too.
So... you got banned, made an alt to tell people you got banned, then came back after your ban and denied (really unconvincingly, I might add) that you made the alt to begin with.
Interesting approach.
Yeah, you'll have to buy it again for PC. The PC and mobile versions are different, and unless you have a phone that's running Windows for some awful reason, I don't think the game program assets would even be compatible if you were to try to copy/paste them.
Also, an EOL announcement on Steam would be good for the folks who don't frequent the website, so they know what the situation is.
Flipping back and forth between WOO an update :D and NOO the last update D: (these new lever and switch variants are awesome though guys!)
Related, is there any hope of a fix for the water visual #bug that I reported to @PhilipTarpley in October 2021 (occurs when the view is moved close to the water, and I suspect it to be related to AMD hardware)? Last I heard it still hadn't been tracked down.

It's not random. The aircraft lists are sorted alphabetically by whatever names you've saved the planes as, just like in Sandbox mode.
Prior to version 1.8, the USS Beast looked like this.

It's still there.
That being said, it was withdrawn from use and put into storage in 2021, so I'd presume there aren't a lot of recent images of it.
