I think a lot of people are still on v1.12.1 because v1.12.2 (the most recent one) only added a few new parts and bugfixes (as well as a few new bugs, cough Wright Final Approach AI spawn cough) in addition to some backend things that most users won't know or care about. 1.12.2 also introduced an unfortunate warning/error spam in the console when connected to a server via the multiplayer mod, which has yet to be fixed and makes keeping up with chat messages or other console commands significantly more difficult.
I'm with PlaneFlightX on this (plus the new levers and switches are objectively very neat), but that's my thoughts on why a lot of people have skipped the update.
First, most of that seems specific to your school. I've never heard of a middle school confiscating everyone's phones for the day, but they are definitely distractions and logistically speaking it's easier to just take everyone's phones away than to try and enforce a more general "no phones in class" policy (and then have students try over and over to get past said policy). It's a bit of an extreme solution but I can somewhat see where they're coming from.
Second, I've got 30 minutes tomorrow between when I wake up and when my first class of the day starts. I get between 15 and 20 minutes four days of the school week to eat breakfast before my 8 AM calculus class, and then on Thursdays I get to eat whatever I bought the night before and can eat in 15 minutes since I have class from 7 AM to 10 AM. Enjoy your guaranteed meal time blocks while you have them.
I've bought it twice, once on iPad in like the month after it launched and then again on Steam a few years ago when I finally got a computer that could run it.
I don't think SimplePlanes is still available on TestFlight, since the program has a 90-day limit on testing a beta build starting from when the build is uploaded and there has definitely not been a beta build posted within the last 90 days, meaning that any existing beta builds on TestFlight would no longer be available.
At some point between 1 and 2 hours, the site changes from saying "One hour ago" to "[X] hours ago," but for a short time between then and when it hits 2 hours it still rounds the time down to 1, so it displays "1 hours ago."
Try either increasing the total weight or decreasing the sideways traction on the tires; it's got too much grip for its weight so when you turn it goes up on two wheels, loses half of the grip, and then spins out.
The reason that mods are no longer supported on Android is because Google decided to prevent "third-party" (read: player-created) code from running on their devices. Jundroo had no control over this decision, and is not responsible for the inability to support mods on Android devices. This has been the case for several years now, and is quite unlikely to change.
(As for iOS, it never supported modding to begin with, for much the same reasons).
Well, the entirety of a SimplePlanes download from the site is a six-byte file. That file gives you the aircraft ID (which you can also see in the plane's site URL after the /a/), which the game uses to actually download the plane's XML file (which stores the actual plane data).
Was it that one specific plane, or does it happen with many? If it's every plane, it could be your antivirus registering a false positive with the .splane file type (though I haven't heard of that before).
Assuming the actual save data location is the same for GOG as it is for Steam (there's really no reason why it'd be different; the actual game files might have a different path but the saves shouldn't), your save data will be in the folder: C:\Users\[yourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes.
Also, they've done these sales pretty much since the time they had two games available to bundle together, which was... I think SP and SR1 were available as a bundle, so pretty much for the entire lifetime of the game.
Seriously though, I am speechless. This is something that has been joked about and referenced for years now, and now you've actually gone and done it, and it is amazing.

Also, what are your statistics showing that the community has decreased in size since the 1.9 update (which officially ended game-side Android modding support since it had already been prevented by Google at that point)? I'm genuinely interested in seeing that data.
Probably 99.999% of the planes you see on this site are built exclusively using the in-game tools and part selection. There's a few that aren't (using the methods that @PlaneFlightX and @BeastHunter listed), but the overwhelming majority of planes are exclusively made using the in-game builder. It's not the most intuitive system, but it can be pushed really far.
I don't think iOS can do that. On Steam it's done through the betas branch (where you can pick a specific version of the game to install/run), but I don't believe there's an equivalent feature on iOS, at least not legitimately from the App Store.
Sounds like an ambitious project! You might have better luck looking for assistance on an engineering or CNC forum rather than an indie sandbox videogame, though ;)
I think maybe 1 comment that was a "hey calm down guys" sort of thing in response to a big comment argument (the whole chain got deleted so mine went with it).
@TheOfficalMarylander You mean the "Report" button accessed by the drop-down options menu right next to the reply button, for a person to put in genuine bullying, harassment, or other problematic problems, that gets sent directly to the site moderators? Complete with a text box for the same?
@LJh1 I use a computer, but regardless planes don't take up very much space at all. To take up a single GB would require somewhere in the vicinity of three to four thousand planes, and even then that would only be 1/32 of your storage. I think there are probably other things on your phone that are taking up a lot more of your storage than SimplePlanes.

If you ask the Flyout people if Flyout has replaced an older game that's similar to Flyout, they will say yes.
Not sure what you were expecting.
I'll also take the opportunity to link a few of WNP78's statements regarding Flyout.
Here and here.

+1@IMTRYING You'll need to contact Steam support on that one, the devs here have literally zero control over that kind of thing.
