Hmm thats interesting, I actually really like the tri-pacer. I think it's adorable and looks like fun to fly. But yeah it's interesting to hear that it wouldn't be much worse then a 150. I'll have to tell my dad about this. Now I'm assuming the tri-pacers and colts have an ignition in the cockpit right? You don't have to hand start the prop? @MrSilverWolf
I don't think my dad would buy a tri pacer or a colt. I think if he did buy something for us to train in, it would be a C150 because it would feel more like a plane. The tri pacer is so small and light I think it would be kicked around even easier then a 150. Not sure though. @MrSilverWolf
I'd have to agree with you! I'm a bit biased as my dad used to own a Piper Archer 180. But I just think piper makes beautiful birds in general. @MrSilverWolf
Looks good, however, I read that the wings were difficult to make because of their shear enormity. The wings would actually be very easy to create. Just look at BogdanX's U-2 wings for a similar example. You used lots of triangles for the wings, when you can just do a couple to make a smoother wing.
Patent This is what I was looking at when I was inspired ro make my Alcubierre drive. It does have some flaws but it may answer your question. @UltraLight
Hmm, interesting idea. And actually I completely forgot about the fact that we don't even know the speed of light. So I'm not quite sure how the Alcubierre drive is even theorized to work this way. The only reason I can see passing the speed of light working is that the ship itself isn' being acclerated. It's compressing and expanding space-time to move, so essentially it's dragging "stuff" underneath it, and that stuff is space-time or "dark matter" I suppose. So if we're dragging dark matter or space-time underneath us, we would never move the craft beyond the speed of light, only the stuff that's being dragged underneath us would be going beyond the speed of light. And I'm guessing space-time or dark matter have zero or negative mass and energy, allowing beyond lightspeed travel.
Although I'm probably not properly understanding how the drive is meant to work or how physics work. That's just how I picture it. @UltraLight
Well, some of the designs I saw utilized only one ring. I suppose you could figure out a way to contract space-time on the front part of the ring and expand it on the aft half. @Vmini
