Excuse me, sir. I'm going to need you to fill out the information on this diagram as to which aircraft currently in service with Her Majesty's Armed Forces correspond with the various portions of a full English breakfast. Thank you for your time.
"Best" is not something decided beforehand on paper. The Brewster Buffalo was profoundly inferior in terms of performance, but during the Winter War Finland was able to amass a kill ratio of almost 60-1 against the much larger Soviet VVS. Would I classify Rafale as a more potent fighter plane, one on one, in a dogfight with a J-20? Sure. But what about the costs and difficulties in buying, maintaining, training and arming a supply chain of aircraft, mechanics, facilities, weapons and pilots? That's another story altogether, the Chinese design might be a much better value.
You're asking the wrong question. This isn't a game about upvotes, it's a game about building things. Upvotes are random, and you cant control them. The only thing you can control is what you build.
There's a variety of inputs you can use. Most people use VTOL , but you can also set it to an Activation Group. The important thing is that you test to make sure it works properly, because flaps can be trickier than other control surfaces.
On each of the main wings, create two control surfaces. One outside, one inside. Set the inputs on the outside surfaces to Roll and set the inside control surfaces to VTOL.
This is a link to one of Savage's tutorials. He's posted a few and they're all good. He's one of the all time greats and very generous with his skills/knowledge.
This is EternalDarkness' tutorial on how to make good wings.
This is a guide to XML, the language of simpleplanes that controls what we build. It was put together by the Simple Planes Masters Chat community and is the single most important thing you need to learn.
This is Snowflake0s guide to FunkyTrees, the special features that can allow you to make incredible moving parts.
Throwing the whole community under the bus so you can whine about not enough upvotes is not a good look, bro. If you delete this post before anyone notices, I think it would be a pretty cool move on your part.
This is the worst teaser I've ever seen and that's saying something because every third teaser on here is some boring story about what they did last weekend and the words "oh yeah and I'm building a wyvern, yeet"
@KnightOfRen They designed the whole plane more like a fighter than a bomber in order to reduce drag. That's the revised ductwork. Originally it had inlets like the F-4 Phantom. Inlet design is crucial for supersonic performance.
There are two other posts exactly like this one and I will tell you just like I told the other two. People who get gold or platinum by posting memes are now complaining about no one taking their serious work seriously. Instead of focussing on learning how to build great content, everyone is chasing easy upvotes. Post a meme, tag 50 of your closest strangers, slap a shrek face on something! You helped to make that recipe for success, why aren't you happy with it?
I'm seeing a lot of this lately: "I got gold/platinum by making memes but now people don't upvote my serious stuff." Live by the sword, die by the sword. With everyone chasing upvotes with cheesy memes, nobody is looking for quality. People aren't taking the time to learn how to build.
Yours is a common problem on this website: "I got to gold or platinum by making memes and now I want to make platinum-quality content but I never took the time to learn how." Good luck.
There are 3 things that determine acceleration: power, mass and drag. You can control all three, but drag is tricky.
SP simulates way too much drag. Way too much. It's like moving through water, instead of air. As a result, people normally use way too much power to reach top speed, and the result is a plane that accelerates 50 times as fast but has the right top speed.
How to fix it? Turn off drag. As you build the plane, go into Overload and find the line that says "calculate drag" and set it to "false". Do that for everything. When you're done, turn drag back on for the leading edge of your wings and tail (if you do 3D wings) or your nose (if you dont do 3D wings).
The next part is to carefully manage your weight. Look up similar aircraft on wikipedia and see how much they weigh. Keep an eye on where the center of mass is, it should be slightly ahead of the space between the main wings, a meter forward of the main landing gear.
Finally, adjust your engine power carefully to match the speeds you expect.
As a longtime VR player, I am pretty sure this game would be WAY too nauseating for VR. Inconsistent framerates, violent camera movement, player-built vehicles, all this stuff adds up to a pretty uncomfortable VR experience.
@Strikefighter04 I try to say something when I can. Because this game is 30% social media, there's a lot of complicated meta-strategies that new players don't know about, but deserve to know.
Setting the mass of anything to zero is a great way to get unexpected bugs, especially engines. Try setting it to something more reasonable like .1 or .01
@CamanderYEET That's ok, you gave it your best shot! You got the overall shape right and I like how you smoothed out the wing roots. Thank you for making one of my favorite planes!
@KnightOfRen No idea, I'll unblock him. Sometimes I accidentally block ppl when I try to respond etc.
Theres only two ppl I have blocked that I know why, biltbio and banban. Because they both spend all their time trolling.

+1Don't call her fat, she's thicc.

+1Excellent work, comrade. Give Papa Stalin a kiss.
+1I would recommend CAS because fighter jets tend to be supersonic, and it takes practice to make decent supersonic planes in SP.
For modern ground attack aircraft, I suggest you look at
Su-25 "Frogfoot"
A-10 "Warthog"
For something older, but really cool, check out
A-37 "Dragonfly"
+1A-4 "Skyhawk"
Can't be any worse than all the fan-service thumbnails I see on here every day.

+1@banbantheman People are looking for help in this thread, maybe you could make funny jokes in a different one?

+1@CharlesDeGaulle Yes, probably. Until then, vive la France
+1Nope. You need one rotator per axis, so your project would require 3 rotators.

+1@Deadly8Nightshade I am not a number. I'M A FREE MAN!

+1@WarshipWarshipTheDude Yeah, I should probably delete it. It was meant to be more funny than mean, but I guess I got it backwards.
+1Because people put way more effort into point farming than they do into learning how to build decent stuff.
+1@KnightOfRen Of course!
+1Make good airplanes that people enjoy flying.
+1Radio direction finder. Basically a radio that only comes in clear when it's pointed directly towards the transmitter. You use them to navigate.
+1@Inuyasha8215 Thanks for the spotlight man
+1Dont.

+1I didn't really understand all that but what I know is that when a guns activation group is "on" it will only fire via FireGuns = true
+1Yup

+1Looking cool. The outline makes it look like TRON
+1This is certainly the most unique plane I've seen in a while.
+1Ok, so why is there a viewport directly above the cannon? That means your face has to be inside the breach somehow.
+1The king of airliners is back to reclaim his throne!

Don't disappoint would-be supporters of your work! Hunt down a jpeg on google or something. Give your people something to look at.
