@LatteCoffee55 I know about the MAN trucks. WOMAN is the logical female counterpart. I interpreted the title as a pun.

  • WOMAN 224 8.4 years ago

The build itself looks great, but what brought me here is the title.

  • Kreuzer M1 8.4 years ago

It's a pretty nice replica. Deserves more attention

  • An actual "simpleplanes-ish" autopilot, not crazyness, calm down and look at this 8.4 years ago

@EliteIndustries1, KingHandspider is suggesting a simple update to the autopilot, with a simple interface. Current one just keeps the plane level. Having the ability to select a course, altitude, and speed that AI should reach and maintain would be a significant improvement.

@Alienbeef0421 complex = 1280 parts. I know that you can't run too many parts, so you'll have to master the art of simplicity. Some of my favorite planes are quite simple. Your twin prop, Bellanca Super Decathlon by luciozanassi, and a few others. Low part count doesn't mean a bad build, if you know what you are doing with those parts.

  • AlienIndustries AA29P Jupiter 8.4 years ago

    Nice. Simple, but nice.

  • Light stealth-corvette typ ''Kattegat'' 8.4 years ago

I like how you did the turret. Just set it to open on "landingGear" input, not on gun elevation. Steering is good, but the ship lacks lengthwise stability. Add hidden vertical stabilizers to fix that. Design of the ship is very nice, although a bit short on details. Conclusion: it has a lot of potential, but it needs a bit more work. I'd really like to see the Light stealth-corvette typ ''Kattegat'' Mk2.

  • MCS Angel (MS-17) 8.4 years ago

@randomusername that's imagination and ingenuity. I'm telling you what I think will work for you, not for George Lucas. You said you want to build a battleship. If you want to make a good one, first look at already existing good ones. If you want to make a flying battleship, that's a whole different story.

  • Cessna 208a Caravan 8.4 years ago

@jamesPLANESii yeah, I guess so. Your next one will be even better, and I'll spotlight that one when there's more crowd ;)

  • Cessna 208a Caravan 8.4 years ago

Woah, amazing. Great details, great performance, 10/10

  • MCS Angel (MS-17) 8.4 years ago

@randomusername well, you gotta know what you are building in order to build it right. Also, the knowledge you collect while doing the research is yours forever. It might come useful at school or to teach your friends something new. Anyway, if you aren't interested in what you are making enough to learn about it, it's not a build for you. Builds without a previous research turn out mediocre at best.

  • MCS Angel (MS-17) 8.4 years ago

@randomusername base it on some real ships. Take parts that you like from a couple of them, spend a few days learning everything about them, and add some details you invented. That's the only way you can make a good ship. Drawings are a useful tool. I spent two days researching minesweepers before I made this one.

  • MCS Angel (MS-17) 8.4 years ago

@randomusername make a drawing based on photos of real ships. Try to keep the scale, and to capture some cool details. Then make it on SP as good as you can.

  • MCS Angel (MS-17) 8.4 years ago

@randomusername It takes a lot of time, a decent computer, and some skill. I can't tell you in detail, as I don't know what technique suits you best. Try to copy the way I made this boat, or a way some other boat you like is built.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@TTHHSSSS dunno, I'll add you to a considerations list. It's a very long one tho, and the competition is fierce. If I was you, I would go for details (literally forcing my device to its limits), and diversity. Being very nice on the site is very important too. One of the main causes for members to vote "No" is having been in an argument with a candidate, or taking note of him as a toxic person or a spammer.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 try it. Edit the block from standard 2,2,2 cylinder to 7,7,15. Then go in the fuselage block settings, and change corners. That's what I usually do.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 when you use overload to make a fuselage go beyond its max/min values, just edit its corners. That will make the effect show up, without returning the fuselage back to normal max/min size.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@DeezDucks we are already established on Hangouts. I don't see a point of switching to an inferior platform.

  • Yaw Drift 8.4 years ago

    @Type2volkswagen no problem

  • the Hydroplane 8.4 years ago

Interesting concept, but far from perfect. Some suggestions I have are: add water steering on activation group, with a VTOL nozzle set to Yaw input, nudge things so that the hinges are not visible, and call it "The Plane Boat", or better yet, "Hydroplane".

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@JMicah4 it is. We just decided to announce our existence to everyone.

  • Yaw Drift 8.4 years ago

@Type2volkswagen Sometimes, detaching the cockpit and rotating the entire build a full circle. If that doesn't work, try to add just enough dissymmetry to counter the glitch.

  • Yaw Drift 8.4 years ago

To check the drag, go to the editor menu (top right button), and turn the drag view on.

  • Yaw Drift 8.4 years ago

@Type2volkswagen it's the drag glitch. A part on one side has more drag than the same part on the other side, despite the build being symmetric. Also, when you are responding to a comment, tag a user to whose comment you are responding, or just hit "Reply" button on their comments, and they will be tagged automatically.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 I find Overload to be an irreplaceable tool. Editing the block will override Overload settings only if it reaches or exceeds min/max values for fuselage block.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 I noticed. You can use Overload mod to make them just 0.01 larger than the fuselage, for an even better effect.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

Ugh, forgot to do something here...

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 yes, the ugly Jundroo pusher prop is no more. Hopefully, now when AI wants to spawn a twin prop, this plane will spawn.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 I replaced a stock Twin Prop with this plane.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 in Serbia, when you sign a two-year contract with mobile services provider, you get a free low/medium end phone, or a large discount on a high-end one.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

I tested it, and I love it. Very nice performance. Only thing I don't like is the main landing gear. Those wheels could be bigger, landing gear leg a bit more detailed, and suspension a lot softer. Also, the charm of a great build are details. Pito-tubes, antennas, "that thing the plane in a picture has. Dunno what it is, but looks cool" parts, seams of the openings (first aid kit bay, engine maintenance hatch...), etc. This is a great progress from your usual, but you can still improve a lot. Designing a paint scheme is a nice touch. Btw, how many parts can your device run without lag?

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@Joco80 yes and no. The entire chat is voting for new guys. We might make a pause in adding people, as we just don't have enough people online to vote.

  • AlienIndustries AC01 Sparrow 8.4 years ago

If you keep improving at this rate, you'll be there soon. I like the way it looks. I'll fly it now.

@MrMecha there are more users from Balkan. I'm from Serbia, and so is cobalT. I've met at least one Macedonian, Greeks, but no Bosnians and Montenegrians. My only time seeing a Croat was long time ago, and it wasn't pleasant.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

    @MrMecha there will be, probably.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

    @MrMecha are you from Bulgaria?

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@MrMecha 42, with a few more in consideration, and a few dead accounts.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@MrMecha same goes for some other guys. Recently, we cleared the chat of users who haven't shown up in a long time (long dead accounts, corpses as we call them). We kept Skua, Gestour, and a few others, in hope that they will come back.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@MrMecha we mis him too. We haven't had a word for him in months. Last thing I know, he was busy with some new job. We have tried to contact him a few times, but didn't get any response.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@BogdanX that was the point m8. A lot of people will want in, and for that, they'll have to be good users. Yes, a great challenge to the community. Well said.

  • Is this too many mods? 8.4 years ago

@BirdOfSteel hard to tell, really. I'm currently using my own WIP map.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 I'm glad to hear that. One of the main reasons we went public was to give users something to strive for, to improve themselves both in the game and in the community. I hope you'll manage to improve yourself enough to join us one day.

  • SimplePlanes Masters announcement 8.4 years ago

@Alienbeef0421 oh, come on, you asked what you should improve, and I pointed you in the direction that you can follow. If you don't like that, go along this path: this was made on a medium-end phone. Also, this. Lag was killing me on both, my phone was overheating, and eventually died as a consequence of such builds, but I did my very best to utilise all my resources to the max, and it gave results. That's why I'm a part of SimplePlanes Masters group. It's not a public chat you can just walk into. You have to show a lot of effort.

  • I need some testers! 8.4 years ago

Add a few in-flight pictures. They look better than the ones in the editor.

  • Is this too many mods? 8.4 years ago

Nope. I have almost all of them that aren't maps and backgrounds. Of course, I also have a few backgrounds and maps that I like.
