@Tomcatbetterthanhornet @Kuiper Those are on my bucket list, but I build what I want to in the moment. I've only truly done a request build once with my old Harrier GR.7. Sorry.
.
If I am gonna build an F-111 it'll probably just be the F-111A.
@Mrfoxus Yeah, I can whip that up for you if ya want. Plus this build has far too many bombs to be fair in Ravenfield lol
.
I can do one with a basic grey or silver paint scheme with a couple bombs, rockets, and missiles if that's alright with you
@Mrfoxus Sure. Do you want to keep it with the replica markings, or do you want something else? Not sure everyone on Ravenfield knows about a series like Area 88
@SyntheticL Here it is...finally. Hope it's to your liking; I handcrafted the decals and I'm actually pretty happy with how they look. I copied the paint scheme from your F-16 as close as I could cuz...I dunno, I lack the imagination or initiative to try and mess with your lore lol
@MatthewCoolman If I had the foresight to keep the bar from rotating beyond 0 degrees this probably wouldn't be an issie, but I didn't think of that at the time. Sorry :/
@Mrfoxus YO WAIT A MINUTE I SAW YOUR MIG-21 MOD FOR RAVENFIELD :D
.
I thought your name looked familiar to me somehow. XD Yes please, that'd be awesome.
This works pretty well, though I have to be careful with pitch input or else it stalls. The auto circle works great. Nose is just a tiny bit too short looking.
.
Nice job!
Blows the crap out of my F-5. It actually handles reasonably for a light fighter - though the roll rate could be a little faster. Looks great with the simulated aggressor camo. I don't have any major complaints; you keep knocking these planes out of the park with smooth handling and a good looking build. The alternate configs are nice too
@ArkRoyalTheDDhunter SVD, PKM/PKP, AN-94, VSS/AS VAL, the frigging Kalashnikov family...
.
take your pick. Russian small arms are perfectly functional and exactly what they need to be.
Cute lil' Scooter. Pitch response seems to become sluggish when full elevator is used. I reduced the range of motion on them to 20 degrees (default is 35 in XML) and that seems to fix the problem, so the best range of motion is between 25-30 degrees. I've had this problem...once or twice, but usually with roll and not pitch.
.
Nice job. :)
Dis a gud one
.
love the cockpit, the HUD is amazingly functional, and it performs well aside from the neutral roll to the left (it's probably the gun. I'd know since I've had that problem in past builds of my own). Excellent work!
This is a nice little build with good speed and agility. Could maybe use horizontal tailplanes on rotators (planes around the time of the Gnat were starting to move to all-moving tails rather than traditional elevators), but otherwise no complaints. This is spiffy :)
@WolfSpark I mean this is just kinda my style. I use however many parts it takes to get the planes to look 'right,' as it were. Just depends on the plane and what features I want. Also I'm working with a laptop that doesn't even have a GPU so I'm kinda forced to keep a part count that won't make the thing chug lol. The F-14 was starting to push it at 660 or something. Type of part (and drag scale? something about drag calculations in game engine) plays into that too from what I've gleamed from forums and things.
. Err N o i c e
@ArkRoyalTheDDhunter Frizz, not friends. ;) 'With the Frizz?' cuz no day is ever normal in that class to our delight and...most* of her student's enthusiasm (poor Arnold)
@SyntheticL I did take a look at it, actually. Was just browsing the airplane uploads when I spotted it and thought, "huh this looks kinda like mine." Turns out after downloading and comparing they pretty much are the same plane with some bits changed or removed (weapons for example)
.
I mean, I'm not bothered by it; if anything I just kinda laugh and shrug it off. I see my comment I made is gone however so...seems I struck a nerve? :/
Only complaint I have is that the roll response is sluggish, but this is gorgeous. Makes me excited for whenever I build my Super Hornet - though imma go for the two seat F model.
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook I know what happened and it plagues all of my missile builds as well. Basically you have to be sure that you launch your missiles from such an angle that they won't turn into your aircraft as they track a target, which means you have to just know the order of launch. If you set an ignitionDelay into the XML for the missiles you can just have them not fire off the motor until they're clear of your plane. It ain't you, it's just how the stock missiles are programmed I assume.
.
In terms of "fixing" the canopy one trick I use a lot is to just panel build sections of the cockpit that aren't supposed to be glass. Funny enough I did that on my F-5E build so if you kind of want an idea for a fix that might help. Looks kinda cool once you do that.
@Default4 Well when I tried I was below 200 knots, more hovering around 150-140 knots, and I had to force the nose down during approach with full downward trim.
.
It is fun to try and build realistic aircraft, I just wish I was better at it lol
Far better than my F-5. This one actually has the crazy roll rate versus mine, nor does it feel as stupidly heavy. The engine startup is a neat feature, and I appreciate the nose wheel hike - something I regret not trying to implement on my F-5 or F-20. I LOVE that you added the smoke deflectors for the guns. Given how the gunsight for the default guns work however it forces you to better judge your lead, which I think is fine. What I don't like at all is the view from within the cockpit...dear god. I swear from images of the F-5 I found during my build the pilot does not sit that high. Also the Flaps at full deflection have way too much lifting power; even full down trim can't overcome that, but maybe the trick is having the brakes deployed and keeping throttle riding high. Will experiment with landing procedure.
.
I did blow myself up when firing a sidewinder at a target but that's just because default missiles in this game immediately bee-line to the target upon launch. Maybe if there was some way to delay when the missile starts tracking a target could we get more realistic behavior from such missiles.
.
Excellent work friend. :)
Okay...now do it without canards. :)

+1@MatthewCoolman Thanks. I'm still really proud of the transition from fuselage to tail on this plane

May her crew rest in peace and undisturbed forevermore. :(

Congrats on building this beautiful ship.
iz nice :) Was expecting the wings to have more sweep but iz fin.

I quite like the livery; the blue arrow on white body just looks right.

@Mrfoxus oh hell yeah friend! Please go ahead; I'd be honored as hell to have something (technically) made by me put in the game.
.
Love Ravenfield X)
@Mrfoxus what game?
@ReinMcDeer They wanted to ensure the optimal airflow possible through different AoA for dogfighting, so yes. Ultralight is correct
+1@Deputydangle The remastered one is much better lol But its also double the parts so this works
Not bad at all. Not the sort of handling that I shoot for, but it works great. Can't believe people are still using my old F-14A build to improve on.
+1Given I play a lot of Strike Fighters 2, I gotta rep my fav squadron the Pukin' Dogs by downloading that version! Also that JASDF version is gorgeous
+2Referencing Top Gun on all of my F-14's lol

Probably been asked already but what about the nudge tools we have now?
+1@Falkenwut It's very trial and error so be prepared to jump into sandbox over and over until you're satisfied lol

It's not a Tomcat. It's Clearly an XADF-28 Jerrymouse. Totally not a futurized F-14 Tomcat, no...
