If you don't mind suggestions, do you perhaps intend to do a Fairey Battle? A very aesthetically pleasing aircraft with an unfortunate combat record, and one of my favourites personally.
I found out if you want the bomb to detonate you have to remove the eggshell, for some reason the eggshell makes it impossible for the bomb to detonate.
