History

The Nide home island, which was commonly referred to as Nidian mainland was inhabited by the Austronesian Nidian people and some Pacific islanders. Around the year of 1000-1100 a Turkic ethnic group named Guecheskye settled in Nide after migrated throughout Asia from their original place in southern Kazakhstan. Then in the Age of Discovery the island was discovered by the Dutch and British explorers and they established colony in the eastern part of the island. After seeing that the western part of Nide was left unconquered, the France sent fleets to the western part of the island and establishes a colony there. The British also established a colony in the western part that wasn't yet conquered by France after negotiationg with the King of Guecheskye. The three colonial power extracted the islands natural resources such as coal, gold, etc. Oil was found in Western Nide in 1830, which resulting to France occupied part of British West Nide. The dispute was concluded after the signing of the Treaty of Richmond, which divided the oil rich regions to both powers

The Dutch colony in Southeast Nide was taken over by British forces in 1856. which left British and France as the only European colonizer on the island

In 1893, Great Britain, France, and the Kingdom of Guecheskye signed the Treaty of Dankevichu, which formed the Commonwealth of Nide, a self-governing dominion under the British Crown

The Commonwealth of Nide was seen by many Nidians as another form of colonization, this time solely by British. In 1935, mass riots erupted throughout the country. In 1936, the then-President of Nide Alexander P. R. Johnson declared that Nide would leave the British Commonwealth, which effectively cancelling the Treaty of Dankevichu and forming the First Nidian Republic. British then condemned the moveand said that the president of Nide is a traitor who had betrayed the legacy of the Commonwealth. By early 1937, tensions were so high that both nations almost went into a war. But after some diplomatic talks, both country reached a dipplomatic settlement, under which Britain then recognized Nidian sovereignty in 1938

In 1977, the then president of Nide, Alexander Herbert was overthrown in a coup led by General Lawrence Edwards Sr. He then taking over the presidential position and ruled the country under dictatorship for 22 years. Under his term, the country saw a massive increase of economic development. Infrastructure development booming, and many other development. He resigned in 1999 after being demanded by university students accross the country to step down after failed to recover the Nidian economy during 1997-1998 Nidian economic crisis

Nide has been improving since then. The country supported its economy through oil, manufacrturing, gold mining, and trading sectors. The standard of living in Nide is roughly similar to those in Indonesia and the Philippines due politicians being corrupt and many infrastructure projects were interrupted by corruption cases
