@Samfpanzer It uses an actual functional rudder (made with a wing) to steer while there is another wing inside the bottom of the hull to keep it from drifting sideways. the rest it just fine adjustment of these: size of the rudder wing, ship speed, rudder swing speed etc
@Samfpanzer Yup, I have four Austro-Hungarian ships on my build list actually:
- SMS Leitha, a river monitor that actually exists to this day and which I have already started work on (about 30% finished rn)
- SMS Zrínyi, a semi-dreadnought battleship
- SMS Budapest, a coastal defense battleship
- SMS Szent István remake, a dreadnought battleship (I've already built her before but that was many years ago and I want to make a newer version)
@Mousewithamachinegun122 Yup, a lot has happened since then, but I'm quite proud of my first year (as I am of most of the years of my SP work), I reached a lot of achievements
Yep, meme builds tend to get the most attention on the website. My most upvoted build (Ever Given) is also one that was a popular meme at the time I posted it
As others said, discord images no longer work (minus a few exceptions where I saw them still working for a few people but it's rare). I use Flickr for hosting now (I spent two days reuploading everything from discord lol), it's pretty reliable, but I heard ImgBB is good as well
I personally think it's not good to force the game if you dont feel like playing it. Im on a build hiatus too rn for the same reason.
But if you really want to build something before going on hiatus, I'd say maybe make a small regional prop airliner like the Bombardier Dash-8 (doesn't have to be a replica, just losely based on it)
Sounds like a simple relaxing build to me:)
As far as I know there is no way. Best you can do is go through who upvoted your builds and check on their profiles one by one but ofc that's very tedious and time consuming
@Hoawdie Well, it's preferred to build the ship entirely by yourself, but you can use assets from others (with proper credit of course), although expect some score deduction for it (the more borrowed parts you use, the more points would be deducted from your final score)
@Samfpanzer Oh well, great then! I said it's comlpicated because there were quite a few times when someone asked for it and they had a hard time understanding it even when I tried to explain how it works, but I guess they were rookies with FT whereas you are not:)
@Samfpanzer I have a little FT code that does the trick. It'd be a bit too long and complicated to explain in one comment but I have a tutorial for it in the Port SP discord server. If you are interested, you can find an invite link in my bio
@Samfpanzer It just uses an overpowered gyro, you can find it hidden inside the first funnel. If you have problem with the ship drifting sideways after turning, then place a large structural wing on the bottom, the stretches almost the entire length of the ship, you can see it on my ship too
@KSB24 Glad I could help with a big info then. That user has a history of using taken builds as challenge entries (or just uploading taken builds or parts without credit in general) so if you are planning another challenge in the future, I recommend checking entries extra carefully
Also if you got two other random pings, those were me too, I tried to tell you this info under his post but he deleted my comments both times and blocked me, showing that he is trying to hide the truth about the build's origins
A little side info: The winner build probably should have been disqualified from the beginning, since it was taken from pacnelvonat's german vehicles pack with minor modifications and with no credit, and the rules of the challenge state that no stealing is allowed. Of course, it's up to KSB24 to decide if it was modified enough to not be considered stolen but I have a feeling he didn't even know that it was taken from someone else
Why does the autocredit direct to Alisuchanka's KV-2? (In fact, why do almost all of your builds direct to it, even ones that have no connection to it at all?)
@DatTrainGuy19 I still plan to make something like that sometime, but it's the same case as the Latécoère 631: the base is so old that at this point it'll be better to start it from scratch
@KAIST idk man, the website rules do forbid misleading thumbnails so if a mod sees this they might take it down if they deem it too misleading. maybe tag one of them and ask them if this is still acceptable or not, that's probably the best way to be sure
Isn't this thumbnail a bit misleading? you show the zwilling version on the thumbnail when this post is in fact the single cannon version and the zwilling is only linked in the description
I'd say my biggest recent disappointment was my Olympic and Titanic. They both got over 50 upvotes but for the amount of work I put into them, I expected at least about 80-ish upvotes, but unfortunately I screwed up by making them be too many parts so most players couldn't even try them out.
This was actually a pretty decent start. In case you need help with a project next time, I figured I'd let you know that there is a discord server dedicated to ship building in SP, where we share our building progress, help each other, have some events and so on. If you are interested, I'll leave an invite link here, I hope you don't mind: >>clicky<<
@SiBangsatYa Since no player uploaded more than one entry last time either I didnt think this is important, but you can enter up to 3 entries (only one of them can make it into the top 3)
@Samfpanzer type ___ in a separate line.
If you go to forums and click on the Useful links pinned post, you can find a Markdown Formatting tutorial post which includes all of these formatting tricks
@PilotBug Unfortunately no, this isnt that type of challenge. But EternalDarkness has an airship challenge going on right now, maybe check that one out.
@Tang0five The Royal Sovereign class is considered as the first real pre-dreadnought type battleship but the line between them and the preceeding ironclad type ships is pretty blurry, so if your design was maybe commissioned slightly earlier than 1890 or something but still generally resembles a pre-dread, then you are still good to go, the 1890 year is more of a guideline here:)
@Speedhunter Ooooh that sounds very cool, and a very difficult hull too. I'm looking forward to it!
+1@Speedhunter Of course! Only one and a half months left tho, so you gotta hurry. Good luck!
+1@Samfpanzer It uses an actual functional rudder (made with a wing) to steer while there is another wing inside the bottom of the hull to keep it from drifting sideways. the rest it just fine adjustment of these: size of the rudder wing, ship speed, rudder swing speed etc
Looks damn good mate! Amazing work!
@DatTrainAndCarGuy19 Thanks mate, you cool!:)

+1@Mousewithamachinegun122 I quickly counted all that I could find: together with you, 6 people commented it so far
+1@Mousewithamachinegun122 I've added that thing to my bio in like 2018 iirc but only a handful of people commented it so far, like 4 or 5 at most
+1@Mousewithamachinegun122 Thanks mate, you are cool:)

Congrats on 20k mate, plat will come soon enough after this:)

The real fossil

Thank you for the submission, she looks great! Just a little suggestion: the correct prefix is IJN not Jin
@LJAircraftmanufacturer That's great! I'll add you to the list of participants then! I'm looking forward to your build!:)

@KSB24 Yea fair, I don't want any drama either, I'm just making sure the truth is known, because you said, it's important to be known

@Sharkmanned There is no fuel: the ship uses custom built propellers that dont need any fuel
what exactly did you change?
@Ubyk123 That's literally the thing it uses, haven't you read the description?
did you just... enter your own challenge with an alt account?
+3@Ethantaing I won't
Why does the autocredit direct to Alisuchanka's KV-2? (In fact, why do almost all of your builds direct to it, even ones that have no connection to it at all?)
@SILVERPANZER yea, unfortunately I lost interest in tanks in the past few years, hence why I dont see much of a chance of that particular one finished
