They're incredibly useful for making good cockpits, for instance, click here.
You can use them for making passenger jets, since they're hollow, and you can put stuff like seats and other things inside them. This also uses a lot less parts, so it's easier to run.
They can be used for custom parts, like the barrel of a gun on a tank, or something like that.
While on the topic of guns, they can be used to make custom reticles so you can aim better too.
One last thing is that they can be used for better detailing on creations, for instance, if you want some sort of exhaust pipe for an engine on a car, the hollow fuselage is perfect for that!
As funny as this is, I can easily see a few American tank pilots pulling up to a McDonalds drive through in a tank, and saying something like "I'll have a Big-Mac with a side of freedom"
Lmao, the things that go on inside my head...
Omg! You actually named it Boaty Mc.Boatface like I suggested! This is absolutely incredible btw, definitely one of the best Aircraft Carriers on SimplePlanes!
@dunodisko12 nah, you'll have to watch the video to get what I mean, lol.
"It's gonna take a lot more than potatoes to take down this baby!" A barrage of potatoes proceeds to punch straight through the wings, causing them to fall off, destroying the aircraft
"Oh, maybe not." Explosion
Damn, that's some real precision right there! The new flight module is pretty cool too, definitely opens up new ideas for future creations, doesn't it?
1 - As ironic as it is, I discovered SimplePlanes by watching the infamous youtuber we all know as Jelly. I saw his SimplePlanes videos, and instantly fell in love with the game!
2 - I'm playing it for all three reasons listed!
3 - I'm best with fictional creations, simply because it allows you to really express your creativity, instead of being limited with what you can create if it's a replica. Sure, replicas in this game are nice, since most flight simulators aren't exactly going to let you fly a Focke-Wulf Triebflugel, am I right? But if you want to make a flying hotdog, go ahead! How about a space ship? Sure! Fictional creations are also very good to do backstories with, and let your creativity flow.
4 - I can't decide: Times were simpler in SimplePlanes when it was newer, nobody knew what they were doing, and we were all just trying to have fun, build weird creations, and just see what we could do with what we had! But now, the stakes are so much higher in the community now, considering how many users like BoganBoganTheMan, BogdanX, Dllama, and other users are so good at the game, it's almost impossible to get your creations recognized and played with when your're new. Take it from me, my first few creations only got a few downloads, no comments or upvotes, I thought it was great, but I still felt that I deserved more for my "hard work" (I'm putting quotes because they literally only took like, five minutes to create, lol) Sure, it's harder to get recognized, but because of those amazing users, and all the new stuff we have in 1.8, we can do so much more, and screw around all we want without losing too much interest, because there's always something new to be flown, driven, sailed, fired, completely de-materialized, anything you want!
5 - There really isn't too much history behind my username, other than that in my bio, it says that I want to create awesome creations, hence my name. That's really it, and I know it sounds cringey as hell, but I can't exactly change it to something better though, so I guess I just have to live with it.
If you managed to read all of that, congratulations! You've officially wasted about 3 minutes, and 47 seconds of your life reading someone else's comment! You've earned an Achievement! - "Comment Conqueror"
Ok I'm done now
@Zoomzoom999 Nope. Setting its power to a negative only removes its magnetic power entirely, which is utter bull in my opinion. Maybe someday in the future magnets will be able to repel instead of just attract, but hey, who knows.
@GritAerospaceSolutionsLTD Relatable. I'm called "Bee-Jesus" on my bus, simply because a wasp got on the bus and scared the living shit out of everyone, meanwhile I'm just over here, calmly letting it walk onto my hand, and put it outside, since I like insects, unlike pretty much everyone else. I don't really mind being called "Bee-Jesus", but what gets me is that ITS JUST A TINY AF LITTLE BEE, ITS NOT GOING TO MURDER YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY, NOW STOP SCREAMING LIKE YOU HAVE A RAILWAY SPIKE THROUGH YOUR CHEST, AND ACT CIVILIZED!!! People in my school these days don't know how to tolerate the slightest inconveniences, their life just has to be soooo perfect, that even something like a tiny little bee will ruin their entire day. Stupid.
@Zoomzoom999 setting their power to a negative number just removes their ability to magnetize at all, I'm afraid. Maybe they'll be updated in the future so that they can repel things too, instead of just attracting things.
I know this post is old, but I just had to share this.
I have a friend in school who's an absolute god with anything that has to do with aircraft. Since I am too, we're pretty good friends. The thing is though, we're always kinda made fun of for knowing all that stuff about planes and whatnot. It's pretty stupid, but I don't really care what everyone else says about me.
Jokes on them though, 'cause we'll be the ones laughing when we have awesome jobs, brrrting the shit out of ISIS in A-10 Thunderbolts, while they're stuck in a dead-end job working in an office.
What's happening is that you're essentially "stretching" the part;
When you have small parts that have values of around 0.1, to 0.05, things get a little weird, if you make the height something like 0.05, the width 1, and the length 5, or something else, it basically stretches out the texture for the block, and it results in a dark black mass being displayed where there originally was a texture. Weird, I know. I've ran into the same problem multiple times, it's annoying af.

+6Here's my guess: 1,127 parts.
Pretty cool, I love the cockpit design!
Description plz?
This looks too cool! Plz tag me when you post it!
+1As funny as this is, I can easily see a few American tank pilots pulling up to a McDonalds drive through in a tank, and saying something like "I'll have a Big-Mac with a side of freedom"
Lmao, the things that go on inside my head...
Pretty cool, but I think the correct phrase is "like a hot knife through butter" and not "like a knife through hot butter", lol
Omg! You actually named it Boaty Mc.Boatface like I suggested! This is absolutely incredible btw, definitely one of the best Aircraft Carriers on SimplePlanes!
+2Pretty cool, waaay too many mods though.
@UssInvincible don't worry, he asked if he could use guns that have no damage, just for aesthetic purposes, and I allowed it.
@slayeralpha only if you're actually rewarding the top three players who had the best catapult, I don't want to be that one guy who begs for points.
@slayeralpha thanks!
Dem curves
@TheBoeingEngineer ha, lol
@dunodisko12 nah, you'll have to watch the video to get what I mean, lol.

The decals are amazing, and holy crap, you weren't kidding when you said how good the airbrakes are!
Very nice first plane, I can see some great potential in you!

You seem to have taxied through a puddle of lip gloss before you uploaded this, 'cause those are some shiny tires you got there, lol.
Great creation btw, kinda reminds me of a B-29, just with a little Russian Bias and a dash of Cheeki Breeki.
@Zoomzoom999 Nope. Setting its power to a negative only removes its magnetic power entirely, which is utter bull in my opinion. Maybe someday in the future magnets will be able to repel instead of just attract, but hey, who knows.
@Juan24 thanks! Yeah, those guns are pretty powerful, you can take some if you want and add them to your subassemblies.

Is there a reward for the winner? Or is this just for fun? Just wondering.
A bit difficult to control, but pretty cool!
@CRJ900Pilot sounds pretty cool!
Soviet Anthem plays softly in the distance
@RailfanEthan what physics setting are you using? That never happened to me when I was using it.
Idk if the accelerator thing would work, but I'm sure as hell that they'd be able to slow the plane down, easily.
@AerialFighterSnakes I like to put tags that are completely irrelevant to the creation when it's something weird, like a catapult. Lol
@Slipstream456 I said I can't see it as a joke, because you know, it's a stealth ship?
@Slipstream456 r/wooosh
+1I love how unique your building style is, it really makes your creations stand out from the rest!
+4This is really nice, very good decals too!
By far one of my favorite Russian Tank-Destroyers, awesome job!
@SubXTribe the one in the movie had no landing gear, so this one doesn't either!
+1Alright, I'll count this one.
@slayeralpha

This is too good! I really like how you made the one wingtip red instead of grey, idk what it is about me, but I like how you did that.
+1You mess with the doggo, you get the bomb-o!
I think you'll find this very I N T E R E S T I N G.
@enzoBoeing757 YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
Do you want me to count this one, or the previous one in the competition?

Pretty cool, what are the parachutes for?
@UssInvincible wow, that's a really good Bronco!
Dayum Son, this is awesome!
