His majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was born at Cambridge hospital, Massachusetts, USA on 5th December 1927

He demised in Siriraj hospital, Bangkok, Thailand on 13th Oct 2016, 15:52 Thailand local time
Bhumibol ascended the throne following the death by gunshot wound of his brother, King Ananda Mahidol, on 9 June 1946, under circumstances that remain unclear. He was crowned King of Thailand on 5th may 1950.
