The T-39 Albatross is a Paternian turbofan-powered trainer aircraft designed by Paternian Defense Industries to fulfill light fighter and attack roles. A forgiving machine for the novice pilot, but challenging enough so that the novice may learn, it is an ideal training aircraft. It remains in use as a basic and advanced trainer in the Paternian Republic alongside the turboprop T-5 Angel.

This particular variant carries three combination gun/rocket/fuel pod, a pair of XML-enhanced Guardians with improved targeting angles, and XML-enhanced Guardian missiles with greater speed, higher maneuverability, higher accelleration, shorter lock time, proximity fuzing, and most importantly, the ability to engage aircraft at any angle.

The combination gun/rocket/fuel pod is designed for training, so a pilot can practice strafing attacks with rockets and machine guns on the same aircraft. The pods comprise of four 5" rockets, a single .50 cal machine gun, and 18 gallons of fuel.
