The 45M Hunyadi was a Hungarian medium/heavy tank design of World War II, named after a famous Hungarian general and political figure, Hunyadi János. The tank was developed based on the Panther tank's design specifications and was to combat heavily armored Soviet tanks faced on the Eastern Front. It was supposed to replace the Turán I and Turán II tanks in Hungarian service at the time, modernizing Hungary's armored forces.
