The bloodhound SSC has been designed in order to break the current Land Speed Record of 763.035 mph, set by Thrust SSC in 1997. It will also be the first ever land vehicle to reach 1000 mph (around 1600 kmh) The first 200 mph public test took place this year and in 2019, 2 runs will be performed, the first one with a goal speed of 500 mph and the final one with the goal to set a new land speed record and break the 1000 mph barrier.
