Background

The unusual design of the M.29, designed in 1926 and produced in 1929,a push-pull tandem and twin boom bomber, was what gave it much fame in the Regia Aeronautica.
The project originally started with a single pull engine, but after underpower problems were encountered,it was decided to opt for the current configuration. Open cockpit, separate seating for pilot and gunner and the massive landing gear covers drastically brought down the maximal speed, but it is still fast enough to outrun some fighters of its time. It is powered by two Fiat AS 41 V12s. The M.29 was used in the Ethiopian war, Second world war (Balkan theater and Eastern front). The RAF has captured M.29s multiple times in Africa, left abandoned by retreating italian forces. The RAF has currently the only three M.29s left in the world, which two were repainted in the Regia Aeronautica Militare livery. The M.29 was briefly produced in Britain by Brantley Aero mobiles under the name of Twinpard Mk.I,but ceased after 1946 because of it being obsolete.

The M.29 portrayed here is the 15th Plane in the 7th Bombardment Wing "Aquilotti" (lit. Eaglets )

Payload

The bomber carries a heavy payload composing of 12× 30kg Campionelli 30c bombs, 2× 7.62mm Breda 130 machineguns shooting through the propeller,2× 37mm Autocannons Breda CB37 and a single 7.62mm Breda 140 for the tailgunner.

The bombs are rigged for a singular drop, meaning each bomb drops at the same time; recommended for big targets. Or singularly like most bombers.

Controls

Ag1: Fwd Prop

Ag2: Rwd Prop

Ag4: Gyro to stabilize autopilot mode

Ag5: Drop all bombs at once
