Me 464 B-2

15.9k Hatsy  one year ago

Description:
The Me 464 is a long-range heavy bomber with a design derived from the Me 264. It first flew in December 1944 and entered service for the Luftwaffe in April 1945.

Some Fictional history:
Apart from being a long-range bomber, it could also be an interceptor due to the dorsal and ventral turrets which were armed with 20mm cannons, this was seen when an Me 464 intercepted a Lincoln at 12 :56 am using the schräge musik with the dorsal turrets.

Engines:
- Four Daimler-Benz DB 611AC (Fictional)
- Two Junkers Jumo 004B-1

The bomber it's armed with:
- Twenty seven 500 kg bombs

The bomber it's defended by:
- Dorsal and ventral turrets with two 20 mm MG-151/20 (310 ammunition for each cannon)
- Tail turret with Two 20 mm MG-151/20 (430 ammunition for each cannon)

Controls:
- Open bomb bay doors with Activate 2
- Drop all bombs with Activate 3
- Able/Disable dorsal and ventral turrets with Activate 4
- Able/Disable dorsal turrets cannons with Activate 5
- Able/Disable Ventral turrets cannons with Activate 6
- Able/Disable tail turret with Activate 7
- Activate/Desactivate ailerons and elevators to use turrets with Activate 8

Flight perfomance:
(All the perfomance without the bombs)

Max speed in a straight line at 3000 ft: 343 mph / 552 km/h

Turn time at 300 mph:
- Vertical: 23 s
- Horizontal: 19 s

Speed to take off:
- Without bombs: 134 mph / 215 km/h
- With bombs: 139 mph / 223 km/h

Note:
- The tail turret is not cincronized with the other turrets, you can only use the tail turret or the rotative turrets.
- It has Trim but doesn't work.
- The flaps makes the bomber go down instead of up, still works well to lose speed.

Others:

Careful!
The dorsal turrets can hit the wings and the vertical stabilizers.

Probably this is my first airplane that has more than 1000 parts

@Ytcaptainjeffthepilot1234 I don't know how to make that, you must deactivate the ailerons and elevators of the plane with Activate 8 to be able to use the turrets without moving the plane, maybe it is uncomfortable because you must correct the angle of the plane before using the turrets, but it is the only way I could find.

Can you make automatic turrets because if I use it manually it controls the plane also

This is so freaking cool!! I love all of this to the max. I'm following, spotlighting, and updooting, amazing work!
    .
Also, along with some others here, I think it's perfectly fine to have the swastika there, you have the historical reason for it, it's not like you're outright saying you support it, it's merely a symbol, which follows the rules!
    .
    Again, awesome work!

@Graingy I was thinking about the Me 264 when I was making this...

It seems that everyone didn't think of the same bomber as me.

No, the rules say it is ok for historical accuracy as long as you don’t support it, your build is a perfect example, as the rule says “ Don't use offensive symbols, unless they are necessary for historical accuracy (ie - Swastikas should only be used on things like a WW2 German Bomber).” @Hatsy
