After interest in the challenge was gauged, I finally came up with the basic rules and specifications for this challenge. I hope you all have fun with it!
Prompt:
Design an aircraft from any decade. Base your design directly off of a failed prototype, experimental airframe, or even a technological demonstrator airframe, as long as it was never put into production.
EXTENDED DEADLINE: 2/1/23
Rules:
- Minimum Part Count: 300
- Maximum Part Count: 2000
- Must be a successor to this challenge
- Must be based on another real-world aircraft
- Must be YOUR original aircraft. Some of y’all are trying to pass other’s builds off as yours.
Advice:
- VR builds will be looked at varyingly depending on quality, as I have a headset that can help in grading. Keep that in mind and make sure to keep everything within reach if making a whole cockpit.
- Higher quality builds will be looked on more favorably, so try and have fun and make something impressive! You have 4 months to work on it, but time goes fast.
- Don’t make a cargo plane turn like a fighter. Inversely, don’t make a fighter turn like a cargo plane. Unless it’s an F-104 spinoff.

@Cessnasareawesome172 I’ll allow you to do another since the first was DQ’d for too low part count. You still have 3 months to work on it, so please make sure to read the challenge through again. Remember: it has to be based on a real prototype design, whether fabricated or not. Essentially a fictional take on a real plane.
