History:
The Skyhawk was the main light bomber of the United States Navy used over North Vietnam in the early years of the Vietnam War, while the United States Air Force (USAF) used its supersonic Republic F-105 Thunderchief; but they were later replaced by the LTV A-7 Corsair II. The Skyhawks carried out the first American attacks in the conflict, it is believed that a Skyhawk of the Marines was the last American plane to drop bombs on Vietnam. Famous aviators who flew it include Lieutenant Commander Everett Álvarez Jr. and John McCain, in addition to Commander James Stockdale.
