[M-War II] Type-30 Mogami-class FFM MRNS Shinna Faultline

123k LunarEclipseSP  one month ago

Balancing and remaster

  • Armament buff, added new weapon: Karambit, two-stage medium-range hypersonic missile. However, due to the addition of this buff, it occupied the VLS launcher slot which initially used for extra amount of the RIM-162 ESSM anti-air missile, significantly reduced the amount of the anti-air missile.
  • The Bofors Mk4 autocannon also got a buff, it is now capable to intercept aerial targets just like it's real-life counterpart, also act as a flak cannon.
  • Performance buff, increased the default speed of both cruise and maneuver speed.
  • Slight nerf (armament balancing), reduced the amount of the Type 17 SSM for realism. The single launcher tube consist of 2 missiles instead of 4, because it just making it feels abnormally too much amount.
  • Slight tweak and model remaster, extending the rear of the ship, significantly making the ship a little bit larger and longer than the previous version.

"We might be gone, but not forever. In waters we triumph!"
-MRNS Shinna Faultline's full-length motto

Overview

The MRNS Shinna Faultline (Pennant Number FFM30-04), sometimes mistakenly spelt as "Shiina Faultline" is the fourth and the latest ship of the Type-30 Mogami-class frigate of the Monarchii Royal Navy. She is a modified multi-mission stealth frigate, equipped with long range sonar, high speed, and powerful armament designed to defeat surfaces, air, and underwater target, capable to solve a wide range of tasks at any distance.

Overview - Mogami-class Frigate

The Mogami-class frigate (Mogami-gata-goei-kan), also known as 30FFM, 30FF, 30DX, or 30DEX, is a Japanese, multi-mission stealth frigate for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). She was named after the Mogami River and shares her name with a World War II heavy cruiser Mogami and Cold War destroyer escort Mogami.

History

Monarchii lore

Nothing much about the ship, the Ship is one of the notable frigates of the Monarchii Royal Navy. She is a modified Mogami-class stealth frigate weaponized with advanced and lethal armaments, intended for multi-missions such as anti-submarine warfare. Equipped with advanced long range sonar capable to detect underwater anomalies and lurking underwater threats.

MRNS Shinna Faultline was likely constructed sometime prior to the first Monarchii War; her battle record prior to the Monarchii War, however, remains unknown. At some point, she was assigned to a Monarchii Royal Navy anti-submarine division under the leadership of the lead ship of her class. It is also unknown whether Shinna Faultline was vanished during an unknown event post-Monarchii War I along with some other Monarchiians, then return back again at some unknown point. Eventually, Shinna Faultline was deployed in the second Monarchii War to serve the Monarchii and the other loyalist side against the Monarchii reformist side and rebel forces. Interestingly, she shared the same callsign of the Monarchii Royal Air force Airborne Warning And Control System, AWACS Fault Line. Throughout her numerous battles during the Monarchii War, she often worked alongside AWACS Fault Line and their affiliated squadrons.

As a multi-mission frigate, it is also rumoured that MRNS Shinna Faultline was involved on secret anomalous mission which involving the Exoculo Anomalies.

She played a pivotal role in anti-submarine and secret operations, and she is captained by Captain Berezovich Milan.

Real world lore - JS Mogami

In 2015 the Japanese defense budget allocated funds to study the construction of a new "compact-type hull destroyer with additional multi-functional capabilities" as well as a new radar system for the destroyer. In the same year Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) unveiled the frigate's first concept model (30FF) which they have been developing with their own funds.

Mogami was laid down on 29 October 2019 at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Nagasaki and launched on 3 March 2021, four months behind schedule because of problems with the British MT30 gas turbines. She will be expected to be commissioned on 28 April 2022. She commissioned on 28 April 2022 and deployed to Yokosuka Naval Base. The ceremony was attended by Makoto Oniki, Vice Minister of Defense, Ryo Sakai, Chief of the Maritime Staff, and Atsuo Suzuki, Director General of the Defense Acquisition Agency. MHI's Naohiko Abe, Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of the Defense & Space Segment.

When JS Mogami was completed, it was not equipped with VLS, but the budget for VLS will be appropriated later and VLS will be installed.

Export

Both frigate designs have been showcased in four naval exhibitions to attract potential export customers. The 30FF was shown in PACIFIC 2015 as a contender for the Royal Australian Navy's SEA5000 ASW Frigate Program and on display again at Sea Air Space 2017. The 30DX design was shown in Sea Air Space 2018, as well as 2019, and Euronaval 2018. The new FFM design was showcased at Indo Pacific 2023 as the 'FMF-AAW'.

Japan initially planned to export four frigates to Indonesia either on late 2023 or early 2024. Another four were to be built in Indonesia under a ¥300 billion contract under PT PAL. In March 2021, Japan and Indonesia signed a military cooperation agreement, which increased speculation that the Mogami-class frigate would be exported to Indonesia.

However, as of mid-2024, no export contract had been signed. The Indonesian Navy instead acquiring two Arrowhead 140 frigates and up to six FREMM frigates.

  • Hypersonic missile comes with an amazing speed, requires lock on target, fire and forget.
  • LAlt = Launch missile

Anti-Air Missile controls (RIM-162 ESSM)

Startup

  • AG7 = Turn on engine, disable/enable the vessel system, control the aircraft.
  • AG1 = Deploy helicopter.

CAUTION! When flying, do not turn off the engine at the mid-air or your helicopter will lose control and falling down.

Take-off

  • Full throttle.
  • Once it is high enough, set the throttle below 60 or 50.
  • Your helicopter should go airborne now, if the heli keeps going up you'll have to play with the throttle as well to create some balance (for hovering).

Controls

  • Normal flight control.
  • Throttle 50 = Fly low/hover.
  • Throttle 20 below = Go down.

Trivia

  • The ship was named after a V-Tuber Mascot named Shinna Faultline, and it is reasonable:

    • This ship was "tasked" by one of my blokes outside SimplePlanes from Indonesia, they asking me to make the Mogami-Class frigate and naming it after that V-Tuber mascot of their local Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency that is currently in an indefine hiatus due to the software licensing issue, impacted by budget efficiency, and eventually, not everyone were happy after hearing that news. Because of that, they asking me to make this ship and naming it after her name as a tribute to her.

    • Short history, Shinna Faultline is a female Virtual YouTuber from Indonesia who is part of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) office in Gowa, South Sulawesi. She made her debut on July 24, 2024 and became a staff who presents educational content, which is generally related to Earthquakes, Lightning, Tsunamis, and Moon Observes for the BMKG Gowa Geophysics Station channel (information source goes here. And fun fact, I never knew about the existence of this V-Tuber mascot until I was told by that one Indonesian bloke of mine who asking me to build this ship).

    • The Mogami-class was chosen because it is rumoured that Indonesia would receive some Japanese Mogami-class frigate for their navy. Eventually, you will spot many Indonesia references on this ship.

  • The symbol on the ship if you noticed it, it is modeled after the hair ornament thing which is appears in that V-Tuber mascot avatar.
  • The ship motto "Jalesveva Jayamahe" is a Sanskirt words which is translated to "In waters we triumph" or "Victorious in the sea" in english. This is also the same motto that is used by the Indonesian Navy.
  • The flag is also based on the flag of Indonesian Naval Jack.
  • The ship captain of Shinna Faultline, captain Berezovich Milan was named after a certain user.
  • In real-life, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force actually operates the AW101/MCH-101, but unlike this version, it is not the Merlin HM2 variant. The helicopter livery in the other hand, was based on the actual JMSDF livery of the AW101/MCH-101.

Creator's note:

  • The helicopter is made by myself, with some borrowed parts from my weapon helicopters (original by WHNineTripleOne)
  • Some bollocks will be saying that the description looks AI generated, but no! I'm not using any help of AI to build the description. I've heaten up my head to build some words for the description.
  • I might not doing request, but I make this ship because I was interested especially the inspiration behind the making of this ship.

MRNS Shinna Faultline, shares the same name with Monarchii Royal Air force AWACS 'Fault Line'.

@localf15enjoyer Maybe I could give a try someday. I'll try to experiment with magnets just like what I usually do while making a deployable unmanned vessels on my Landing Ships. The magnet would make the helicopter to stay stick with the Helipad so it could be used for anytime but controlling the helicopter is still hard.

@localf15enjoyer You mean like it can be landed back to the vessel again? Rather than just only single use?

@NEOCORP I see... Basically I use the scale of the In-game Destroter ship for scale her. It might probably underscaled and not-so size accurate. More likely, it could eventually affect the performance because you know... Fine Tuner, it would cause lag or game freeze if the scale is too huge.

You should figure out a way to recover aircraft without ditching them, that would be pretty cool

@NEOCORP How couuld it be too small? I literally use the exact scale of SP In-game Destroyer ship (Those who escort the USS Beast) for scaling)
    .
Or does the Mogami-class should be a little bit bigger than that (quite bigger than the Arleigh Burke-class)?

@SPsidearm @NEOCORP small? How it is could be too small? Basically I'm equalize the scale with the In-game Destroyer ship. Was the Mogami-class should be a little bit larger than that?
