The CCM-40 is a Russian/Aurelian medium tank produced from 1940 to 2000.
It served with the Russian and mainly the Aurelian Army, as the Char de Combat Moyen Modèle 1940 (RU - ??????? ???? m.1940), and was exported to more than 5 other nations.
Named after its design year of 1940, and featuring a tough and reliable chassis, it was fitted with an oscillating turret built by Fox Industries with revolver type magazines, which were also used on the Prussian SK-105 Kürassier.
Including prototypes and export versions, there are over a hundred variants including self-propelled guns, anti-aircraft systems, APCs, and ATGM versions.
