[25K] Convair B-36D Peacemaker

31.4k IFVuser  2 months ago

Thanks for Platinum!!!

Convair B-36 Peacemaker

• The Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" is a strategic bomber built by Convair and operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1949 to 1959. The B-36 is the largest mass-produced piston-engined aircraft ever built, although it was exceeded in span and weight by the one-off Hughes H-4 Hercules. It has the longest wingspan of any combat aircraft. The B-36 was capable of intercontinental flight without refueling.

.

• Entering service in 1948, the B-36 was the primary nuclear weapons delivery vehicle of Strategic Air Command (SAC) until it was replaced by the jet-powered Boeing B-52 Stratofortress beginning in 1955. All but four aircraft have been scrapped.

    @Graingy It was added wayyyyyy before, this plane was in the works in 1941 actually. But they might have named it around the beginning of the Cold War, but before Convair knew about the atomic bombs
    .
    I was the one who made this plane, but nice to see it fully completed!

    Man, it's a very good plane to fly and simple, the weapons are easy to access, not to mention the bomb...
    It's simply incredible!

    @LieutenantSOT Thank you!!
    Its just frustrating to me that this aircraft was left untouched, unfinished for like, 2 years?
    The interior was my last minute addition because i was shocked to see the part count of the whole build almost reaching 700 parts, which is like, wayyy more than what my phone can handle. So i just added some labels with some circles so it kind looks like dials?
    atleast thats what i could do

    @DJRianGamerTheHololiveFan i mean the props on this plane (this build specifically) are kind of underpowered bc i tuned down the HP to get that 'spool up' effect

    @IFVuser ahem underpowered? Sounds like the A340-200/-300 became once cus of the 4 CFM56 engines. Fuel efficiency that's the reason.

    @DJRianGamerTheHololiveFan also because of the slow engine spool i made, it is underpowered, so i powered it with some engines, but it wont turn on until the engines are fully spooled up

    @WinsWings It has the most engines mounted on an aircraft ever, the second to this is the Spruce Goose, which has 8 engines
