Description

The Adney Jameson Class is a class of anti-ballistic missile and air defense frigate within the Sosevean Navy. Developed completely with these two roles in mind, the Jameson Class provides the formidable capability to a fleet, freeing up other vessels to take on other tasks such as anti ship missions. With the extremely advanced technologies onboard as well as the relative modularity of the hull, the Jameson Class can be expected to serve well into the 2030s

History

In June 2015, the Navy identified that a doctrinal gap had developed with the introduction of the Tenacious Class DDG. To shut the gap, it was decided by the Bureau of the Sosevean Navy that a new frigate class must be developed in order to replace the ill-equipped and underperforming Constellation II Class FFG. The navy's main goal was to "...Create an aerial defense frigate in order to lesser the amount of responsibilities the more heavily armed Tenacious Classes had, allowing them to conduct other operations." The project was greenlit by the Sosevean Government in late February... After completing development in mid 2016, the first Jameson Class FFG, the namesake SNS Adney M. Jameson, was laid down with Conway Shipyards. The Adney M. Jameson was launched on July 17th, 2018, where it was trialed and subsequently commissioned by the Sosevean Navy on September 13th of the same year.
