Hummingbird™ Autogyro

Mod BaconAircraft  7.0 years ago

The latest in autogyro technology! The Hummingbird™ is a pusher-prop design autogyro that was designed to reach higher speeds while having much better performance than other autogyro/gyroplanes in the market.

A gyroplane/autogyro/gyrocopter is a aircraft, in which unlike a helicopter, the main rotor is not powered by any engine, but rather powered by the on-coming air, therefore providing majority of the lift that it needs to stay in the air.

Controls: (Continued below)
AG-1: Pusher prop on/off, cockpit on/off.
VTOL: Open canopy
Throttle: Activate rotor tilt, and the engine input.

Features:
- Functional cockpit and instruments
- Functional rotor control system
- Functional auto-gyration of main rotor
- High efficiency pusher prop-fan
- Sliding canopy
- Speeds up to 140mph in manuevers, dives and turns
- 60mph stall speed with autorotation

Wow. Amazing. That digital counter is incredible. I think I might be using that in a future build if you don’t mind (credited of course).

@Planefun glad to hear you're learning about it in school. Here's a better version of the autogyro. :)

Hey Bacon, Sorry To interrupted you but I posted a DJI Phantom 4 Using your DJI Phantom 3 Model and made some changes to it. I hope you'll forgive me but I kinda cheated out the successor system and it didn't give you credit. I hope you'll forgive me for my actions but Some Mod is Picking on me and telling me I have to scrap my changes and use the successor system but I said that I'll give full credit to you in the description, including the link to your Phantom when I repost it. Can you fix this? @BaconAircraft

It is clever how it doesn't use a motor for the rotor blades only the tail prop

Nice! It could have looked a bit better if the windscreen was split into two though. It seems a little big to be made out of just one bit of glass...

@BaconAircraft oo I won't be making a gyro from it. I'll be making the British hypos Onich landspeedcreator record breaking bike. From it.

    @BogdanX Thanks for the feedback.
It is known that the craft is not very stable when the autogyration speed is quite low in the start, I'd be more than happy if you can find a way to fix such issue. :)
