Looked at the modding wiki and looked at where the mods file was, and i saw the aircraft design file. So here is a guide on android for when sp 1.9 is out
Download a file explorer, as the one built into your phone will probably start you out on the wrong folder.
Ok step 1: navigate to Android/data/com.jundroo.SimplePlanes/files/
Step 2: download a text editor
Step 3: open the aircraft designs folder.
Step 4: open an xml file of your choosing and edit it. This also works with subassemblies
Edit: the file path on android varies, but once you find the android folder you should be plain sailing.
Edit 2: enable hidden items! I cannot stress that enough
