So recently I've seen a bunch of users (who shall remain unnamed) that are using a mod that allows you to design your own screenshots for your planes and post them on the site with them. I've seen a lot of people complaining about this, and I agree. In my opinion, no one should be able to use this mod. It makes posts unfairly appealing, even if it isn't abused. The fact that only a few people have access to it is annoying, because it gives a few users an advantage over everyone. **Apparently the way the mod currently works is that the original creators choose what images can be posted, so they can decide if an image is appropriate or not. This poses a problem. This means that at its current state, releasing it to the public would make it nearly impossible for everyone to contact a modder and get a personalized screenshot, so at its current state it will probably not be released to the public. On the other hand, the only way to make it available to everyone is if they allowed users to make their own screenshots, without discretion. This means any kid could create spam, memes, or other in appropriate/misleading pictures. Because of this, I don't think this mod should be allowed, unless the creators can somehow fix these problems.

I found it so cool when I first saw it, and it would be so useful to me personally, because im always focusing on function building rather than static looks, and a work that cost me dozens of hours might just look like "a 10-min work from a 10-day beginner" from the editor screenshot.
Maybe the mod or the future in-game function should allow users taking screenshots from both editor and sandbox, with markers and text typing for it,
but NO PICTURES INPUT FROM OUTSIDE THE GAME,
so the pictures can be strictly limited to the planes themselves.
It's always a good thing to have more effective ways showing your works to others.

I agree. Having an advantage over EVERYONE is just plain unfair

I like the fact that it is only given to few people who have brains not to everyone where some perverts are planning to destroy the community. I would like the mod be kept to only a few people too even after it will go public.
The whole community is in a ruckus. Feels like ccooper all over again.
It's just a screenshot mod, not a serious problem. Just don't understand why people are angry at it. Of course, it will be better to release the mod, but it is their own choice to release it or not. BTW, no restrictions apply to the use of mods by far.

For me the screenshot tool is just another exploit for gaining those imaginary internet points. If you feel like you need this to boost your "community reputation" and rank, then you're focusing on the wrong aspect of the game. The screeshots arejust an advertisement of your build, the true value lies in your build itself. It's called SimplePlanes not SimpleScreenshots
This whole issue can lead to the fact that while wholeheartedly true, Users who are more well known will get a higher reward, and vice versa for users who aren't that popular. iOS users as well cannot use this mod to their advantage, nor can they for any other mods.
This argument is against.
I think this is a great idea in all honesty, this can allow for more publication and attraction to the original item behind the whole thing.
This should not be used to mislead nor to clickbait because that's really bad and just abuse in general, perhaps this mod should be available to select users. I really think this is not bad at all. If you can use it, use it. If you cant.

Users should have the freedom to choice in Simpleplanes and while that has been relatively true to the bone, arguments which restrict such things like for example this mod specifically should not be introduced entirely then.

I believe it should be fine to use. Although it may be prone to abuse and misleading titles/clickbairt, if used responsibly, one can pack much more information about their creation which is not very easily done in 3 screenshots.
I believe it should not exist... This site is for people to share their thing they made and want people to see it. Not for fame or drama
Its basically like youtube where the thumbnail attracts the crowd in.
I think if devs added the ability to take picture from the sandbox this issue would be resolved

@Johndfg it's /Designer(Clone)/CameraTarget/Camera>Camera.set_fov
the default value is 60 it may not look like the default after using different FOV
That's the thing about FOV's you get used to them very quickly
