How to make rotators stronger?
I am making a Planex SuperJumbo... Whenever I make a heavy aircraft (take my 747-8i for example), the rotators go nuts and go all over the place uncontrollably. My only solution might be to make an entirely custom Landing Gear system, but that would add about 20+ parts to the build, and it would take eternity to accomplish. I need to find a way to make hinge rotators STRONGER then. Maybe make an SP update or a mod with infinite strength rotators?
maybe... @LatteCoffee55
XD @BaconEggs
The weight scale is somewhere that's either 64 to 100 on every part of the landing gear set (making them heavy AF
@ForeverPie try to make the lg heavier
@LatteCoffee55 If I bring it down enough there will be too low flying speeds :/
Maybe try to reduce the weight of the aircraft
If the creation weights too much the hinges will stay floppy
@LatteCoffee55 @BaconEggs Wait a minute... just made the mass of all of my hinge rotators 30 and nothing happened to make the rotators stronger. I even made the plane weigh only 100,000lbs. WHAT IS GOING ON?
@BaconEggs @LatteCoffee55 Thanks! I was thinking of that but I was too lazy to test the theory because I didn't know if it would work, in which case nothing would work. It's a brain game, you know?
Rotators get stronger if you increase the weight of them (via xml)
The old and faithful solution that I used on my 747-8F is to make the landing gear set half the weight of the entire plane. That's how I did it, that's how everyone probably would do it, and its worked out pretty good so far. It's an old, but trustful plane, and it's still the same format I use today.
@RailfanEthan yeah
It might mean you need to start taking excess weight off (or use .XML modded parts) because I had the same issue with one of my planes. The wheels couldn't take it.
@BaconEggs I don't know how safe it is to assume you would know this better than me, but it's worth a shot.
