So, I got a new laptop since I was about to start university, mechanical engineering to be specific. I think it looks cool on my desk
Also, that's my old Dell latitude 3380 under it. Couldn't even run windows 11 🤮. They kinda look like this picture 👇
Now help me convince my parents I somehow need a mousepad for engineering. (definitely not for gaming)
if you're wondering the specs:
256GB SSD, (237GB computer calculated)
16GB RAM (15.8GB usable)
Core i5
HP elitebook 840 G7, if you want to check the rest
my powerful laptop:
CPU: Core i5 4210U🗿
RAM:8GB🗿
128 GB SSD🗿
The name of that laptop is Toshiba Protege Z30-A if you want to know.
@BluesynVNA cool!
@CaptainNoble hey my pc like that too
@JBPAviation XD
@32 To be honest, I could actually just ask them to get it, but that'll have to be a bit later as it isnt really priority comapred to the other stuff i need to buy.
On your second question, most CAD (computer aided design) software run just fine even on my old laptop, this one should be okay
Hey!
Another one doing mechanical engineering in the future 😀
You DEFINITELY need a mouse pad dude....definitely.... 😂
Mousepads are dirt cheap, high end ones from Kinetic Labs (pretty much the best soft pad money can buy) are like $30. If that’s out of range Razer makes decent ones for like $10. It also looks like you could stand a new mouse to go with it, maybe snag something like this
And yes, even for non gaming this stuff makes a huge difference. Heck with that Razer mouse you probably won’t need a mousepad, its optical sensor is pretty dang nice.
Also what software are you going to need to run for this degree? Wondering if this device is enough.
engineer gaming🔧🔨
@CaptainNoble Hm, troublesome.
"Hey, do you mind if i get a cheap little mousepad? The mouse doesnt glide very well on my desk and the bottom keeps picking up dust and stuff"
Those are typical mouse issues that should get you a mousepad
Also
Nice setup! :3
@hpgbproductions they're like 5 inches too short
@Pnut I like how that's literally what engineering is about XD
engineering enjoyer
also am i cooked or this warrior has really short legs
Sheesh look at dat engineering setup lol. Efficiency over looks
@Graingy I have a wired mouse that pretty much works on any surface the issue is the left click would randomly stop holding so moving parts in sp was risky
Mousepads are for the weak. Use an old hardcover book instead.
I find Chronicle of the 20th century to be quite effective to this end.
