Why is F$g name banned here?

935 WilosDramaCinemaUwaaaaaaa  one month ago

Why? CM gave me a warning that this contains swear words. Yes, I know this is directed at a certain group of "Activists". But I really meant it as an insult, I was just inspired by the nickname "Fagot" on the MiG-15/17, and twisted it to F$g (Cigarette) so that the impression of the MiG-15/17 is there.

As stated within your post by numerous people:
In The UK and some other places, the term simply means a cigarette
Pretty much everywhere else, it is a slur towards members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Your post here also leaks homophobia, so I'd be surprised if the name was in good faith.
The reason the term Fagot is fine is because it is:
A, a NATO reporting name for the MiG-15 (MiG-17 is Fresco, btw)
B, in many languages it is a term for Bassoon
And C, it is also an archaic term to describe a bundle of sticks
(Edit oh dear god I misread how long ago this was posted, sorry)

@Cadvalto Yes it is a slur. For what? I’m not gonna say, hence my first pfp

@SupremeDorian I think maybe he's Australian or Malaysian who uses "f*g" to mean cigarette in their English.

Again, the name was changed (with no repercussions to your account nor any removal of the post) because putting "f*g" in your post title without any context just looks like a slur, especially since as @Cadvalto pointed out that word is practically never used to refer to cigarettes outside places like the United Kingdom and Australia. I understand that it's an homage to the MiG-15 that your craft is inspired by and I trust your intentions, but due to the reasoning I have outlined the name will not be changed back.

I can tell you the reason with just one word:

    NATO

@Cadvalto I'm a britain myself but I'm too rarely to use this word to refers the cigarette or smoke. Yeah it sounds quite rude and I tried to filter my own words and slangs.

Seriously, never call cigarettes "f$g" when you're in the US—that’s not how people talk here, dude. Folks might totally get the wrong idea. Unless maybe the website you're on is using the UK system, then it might make sense.

    1: Different word.
    2: This isn't the UK.

@LunarEclipseSP not the worst one. the code name for the AN22 is “cock” which is the name for an adult male chicken/rooster

So Fagot is actually not the slur for a specific group or anything. Like @Randomplayer said, it contains two G’s and what you wrote is basically saying Fagot with a double G. It’s like running into the hood and saying that word but without the R. Shortening it to F$g is basically that…
    Just be careful next time

Because Fagot isn’t actually a “slur” (I think it’s a slur idk). The ACTUAL one has a double g. And the shorted version of it is what you wrote
