[M-War II] New Threat

Off the coast of Snowstone...

Today in the morning, Loyalist naval vessels were conducting heavy strikes of Reformist ground targets. Big ships like the RRS Rachael and Yamato AEGIS have been battering the ground units of the Reformists, with the battleships alone decimating nearly 300 vehicles throughout the past week. Faster, smaller ships like the Faultline were also tasked with intercepting shipments, slowing down and even sometimes stopping the imports of new weapons.

However, at around 10:24 A.M., a red-painted Mu-19 flew over a group of Monarchiian ships. A missile was fired and struck one of the cargo ships, causing flames onboard. Another red Mu-19 would join the fight, launching a missile of its own and scoring a hit on the Shinna Faultline. The ships were damaged, and two crewmembers were thrown overboard by the blast. But in spite of the damage, both hit ships would successfully make it back to docks under their own power, while the overboard crewmembers were found and rescued thanks to a Monarchiian UH-60 Black Hawk and an MDA AH-5 Ardent.

The attack was surprise, as up to this point, the Reformists have shown no signs of having any dedicated or effective anti-shipping weapons. But although unable to sink the ships, the damage is still considerable. There has also been Reformist propaganda suggesting that the hit ships were damaged beyond repair, and while this isn't the case yet, there are concerns that anti-shipping weapons very well might be able to sink Monarchiian vessels in the future.

Hits were also claimed on the UXV Combatant, two T.R.A.S.H rafts, the RRS Gabriel, and the Yamato AEGIS. However, aside from the T.R.A.S.H rafts being completely decimated, none of the vessels were damaged critically, with the Combatant and Gabriel being hit in areas that proved insignificant in terms of damage. In fact, the Yamato wasn't actually hit at all; an A-40D providing CAS for the Yamato would instead tank the missile, losing its vertical stab and an elevator, but somehow it still survived and protected the Yamato without even firing its guns.

To counter the threat, interceptors will be required (and they will also be more effective due to the slowly declining threat of Reformist anti-aircraft weapons). It is believed attacks were planned on other Monarchiian ships, but several patrols of Diable Defense Rafales and MDA LF-5s were sent out to counter any Reformist Mu-19s. One Mu-19 was spotted, but it was blue and armed entirely with air-to-air missiles. It would not be engaged in combat.

Another tactic the Loyalists have been using is attacking airfields. The Reformists' bases are small and unestablished, but many and versatile. Notable aircraft used by the MDA to counter these bases include the ACI-A-82 Shockwave, ACI-F-15 Eagle, FA-34 Strikeblade, LF-4 Aerojet, and AH-66 Bloodhound. The Monarchii has also been contributing some of their old weapons like the HLC Plopter or AV-8B Harrier, but the new PM-M78-M Tactical Bomber has proven viable too.

We'll keep you updated if anything else happens. Stay safe out there everyone!

Everything is proceeding within planned parameters, but... completing 1 foundational theory, 7 applied weapon systems, and 9 projects within a month... It sounds challenging, and in reality, it's anything but simple

@LunarEclipseSP No pictures this time, wanted to try a words-only article.
I might use this style more frequently so we can keep the war moving, in the future I'll probably include a picture or two here and there.
