This game is now pretty boring,

This game is actually very fun and still is very fun now, but there is something, that the game is missing, what if it added, a map of the entire planet earth for us to
Fly around in like Microsoft fs, with all the cities and stuff like that, or they could add more islands. If Jundroo but just thought about that idea for one second, then that would make me pretty happy, cause that would actually make the game a little bit more interesting, also can they add a map to the game?.

Adding a detailed map of the entire planet Earth or more diverse islands to explore, akin to Microsoft Flight Simulator, could significantly enhance the gameplay experience in SimplePlanes. Integrating such expansive geographical features could elevate the game's interest and provide players with a broader and more immersive environment to fly in.

@ShinyGemsBro But if they make SimplePlanes II, won't you need to pay again for it, just like X-plane?

I think the game needs some of the following
1: Graphical update, with the map, parts, structures, visual effects, etc
2: Sound update, better engine sounds, better explosion sounds, gun and missile firing sounds
3: More things to do. Some sort of campaign with lore or some sort of tech tree/progression system
4: More locations? Or updated locations too, like how they updated Wright Airport.
5: More technical parts, like radar or tracking cameras.

I know that it wouldnt be easy to implement this at all but it would be extremely nice to have and i bet it would bring back many players and even news ones too

The only thing not boring about this game is that you can make a plane with the entire fuselage being glass

@OrionIndustries if that happened, user points in Juno would actually become hyped over lol

The SimplePlanes map is perfectly fine. If it were any more complex I wouldn't be able to run my planes. SimplePlanes is about building planes, not so much exploring.

I mean I did post a forum to the SP devs to add a make a Custom island mode, or a custom airport mode, but these are to the SP devs and Jundroo to add these, I like the idea of these not being mods

    @RepublicOfCursedPlanes Yes, I acknowledged that.
What I mean was that very complicated games can endure a decade of updates and absolutely massive changes. I think I once compared KSP to a toy car which was gradually modified until it was an Iowa-class battleships (but which was still a toy car at it's core, with the negatives that entails). A very, very goofy ship of Theseus.
So it's technically possible for SP's old code to be made into something new, it's just impractical for a small studio like Jundroo.
Unless we, y'know, kidnap Andrew and force him to make a new SP update from our basement...
    in Minecraft.

@Graingy even KSP hasn't had any major updates since 2021, and now it's been replaced by KSP2

@RepublicOfCursedPlanes @ShinyGemsBro "the code used to make SP is a little ancient by today's standards."
    gestures wildly at KSP
granted, likely a much larger development team (and it technically has been discontinued), but it's certainly possible even for much, much more complex games with FAR greater changes implemented.
But yeah, SP's chances aren't looking good.

Integrate a map of the entire world into SP as a default feature? No.

Create a mod that integrates a map of the entire world? Theoretically possible.
I know it's been done on a browser-based flight simulator using Cesium. Unity has a Cesium addon. If it's possible to get Cesium data into SimplePlanes via Unity, then we could theoretically have a map of the entire Earth.
That's not a guarantee that the terrain imagery will be high quality though. The flight sim I mentioned above has pretty low-quality terrain texture.

Jundroo's better off making SimplePlanes II using latest Unity3D for better rendering and optimization. Just like what CursedPlanes said below, the code used to make SP is a little ancient by today's standards. It would be nice if the second game allowed to port builds made here, to there so it can be further improved with newer features.
But then again, you're gonna need some ludicrous brainpower or even a miracle for that to happen.
Worst case scenario is we're all gonna have to move to Juno if they decide to abandon SimplePlanes altogether.

I mean, on paper it obviously sounds nice, but there a few issues:
    - the lag generated by cities and 8K terrain would be intense, and only high-end computers would be able to run it. SP hence turns into a PC-only game, and as a result loses over 50% of its players.
    - The source code of the game is over 8 years old now, so adding new islands into the map wouldn't be easy.
    - Jundroo's a small team of less than 10 people, unlike Microsoft, and their main focus is Juno now, so they can't really spend much time here.
Of course, the map could be like that of Droo in Juno (man their airbases are actually nice lol), but with SP's current limitations I don't see a prospect of them adding a complete map until they make a completely new game.
