I managed to reach light speed using a warp drive.

121k asteroidbook345  2.7 years ago

It took me about ten minutes with my K'tinga. I increased the acceleration by a factor of 10 and made the maximum speed 607,620,000mph, which is approximately the speed of light.

Glitchy clouds

Woooooooaaaaahhh we're half way there

Warp 1!
A fun little experiment, I plan to make a fully functional warp drive capable of at least warp 5 that doesn't take 10 minutes to get to the speed of light. I'll need a significantly stronger gyro.

    I already managed to go at infinite speed, at the bottom it was written infinite km the image went all black XD

    @KnightOfRen they glitch if you go too fast

    what in f*cks name happened to those clouds

    @asteroidbook345 ah ok, the lack of drag definitely helps with immense speed, both with reaching said speed and dealing with it as well.

    @AWESOMENESS360 yeah nothing has drag calculations and it’s all scaled up. I built this thing for 50,000mph so it should withstand higher speeds. I had to have it on autopilot and continually adjust it because it got to a point where it would oscillate between somewhere around 16,000ft and 32,000ft in just a few seconds

    I find it impressive that not only are the beacon lights reacting to this immense speed, much like actual light sources irl would react to traveling at the speed of light, but that also the craft itself is surviving these speeds, usually most SP crafts disintegrate at such unfathomable speeds.

    @LieutenantSOT in the original series it was multiples, in the Next Generation and after they started being able to go faster and it became powers of 10

    @asteroidbook345 is Warp like Mach?
    Like 1 Warp is 1 multiple of the speed of light?

    @Nerfaddict yeah there’s a balance between being stable at extremely fast accelerations and decelerations and just jittering a bunch

    I'll need a significantly stronger gyro.

    Typically i find having multiple "weak" gyros Work better than having one Strong one.
