The War Of The Worlds Martian Tripod. An incredible machine with even more incredible capabilities, used with the intention of wiping out all human lives of planet Earth.
This replica features nearly everything from the movie, including actual walking movement with a tripodal leg mechanism, semi-realistic Heatrays, somewhat realistic size, blood spray with which to fertilize the red weeds, lights that will flicker a bit before turning on completely, and much more.
The geometry of this thing’s head was an absolute nightmare to work on, easily the most geometrically complicated shape(s) I’ve ever had to create. The head takes up roughly 90% of the total part count of the build, that part count being a little over 1,000.
