Fun Facts
-Simpleplanes was first released in 2014 on Windows and Mac through Gumroad, then ported to iOS and android. On December 17, 2015, Simpleplanes was finally released on Steam.
-Forums were added to the SP website 5 years ago. Crazy to think at a point the forums never existed.
-You used to be able to post 5 planes a day. This was changed in 2016 along with the removal of the ability to post pictures in the comments (Like what you would see in a forum post).
-Contrary to popular belief, upvotes from a comment do not give users a single point. This was confirmed in a forum by Andrew.
-The first rickroll in the forums was made by Andrew himself. It was posted in this forum.
-You can only spotlight 5 users every 24 hours.
-While hfusiwjf29's P-51 may have the most upvotes of any build on the website, it is not the most downloaded. That record is held by thealban's SR-71 with a whooping 281,014 downloads. Hfusiwjf29's P-51 only has 165,713.
-Majority of the people who come to the site don't actually have an account. They simply just download peoples aircraft. Because of this, I refer them as the silent majority. Their main traffic areas are highest rated and hottest.
-Speaking of Hfusiwjf29, he is the only user to ever get close to achieving platinum through a single post. His P-51 has gained him 1197 out of the 1667 upvotes needed.
Feel free to post your own fun facts in the forums too!
@jamesPLANESii But... getting your comment upvoted gives you 1 point...
@YoDudeChase Words hard, brain small
Achieving platinum through a single
point
@jamesPLANESii here
But I see what you are saying, Ill fix the forum. Thank you very much for the correction.
I didn’t know anyone thought that comment upvotes gave you points lol
That fact where you say only platinum users could be featured, that is wrong. Any player could be featured, but the mods only used to feature players with less than 5000 points. That was later increased to 25K points. Actually, I don’t even know where you got the fact that only platinum players could be featured...
