I was wondering if anyone has determined the fuel consumption rates for some of the engines that we have in SP. I need these values for.... reasons.
And for the smart incoming commenters: yes, I can determine these values myself. I just want to save myself from doing some work!

@Starbound Just did some testing on the BFE 150. These values are certainly accurate. Turns out they are in liters/sec though.
Found these values for fuelConsumptionRate in the part modifier properties while modding:
T1000 - 0.11
T2000 - 0.4
T3000 - 0.7
Blasto J15 - 0.4
Blasto J50 - 1.5
Blasto J90 - 2.1
Blasto VTOL - 1.75
BFE150 - 4.0
BFE300 - 4.5
Not sure about the units, I'm guessing it's in gallons/sec.

@Mustang51 Fuel consumption won’t change with powerMultiplier, it does change with the throttle input though.
I know this is old but do you know if fuel consumption goes up or down when you change the power multiplier on the engine?
@QingyuZhou Maybe when SimplePlanes2 comes out Jundroo will fix it? Maybe some automated navigation? Maybe some long-range routes? Maybe a continent?

I wanted to make a "10mins of fuel left" alarm for my SMB2 but it appears that the fuel is guzzled in less than 10 mins. So I made a 10% left instead.
Actually i believe the fuel consumption of the engines in game is a lot higher than that in real life.
I might get around to doing some data farming soon. Probably will include fuel consumption rates, spring constants, power, and the like.
I thing the blade 1000 is about 100 gallons an hour... and I haven’t tested the others.
It’s funny because it’s the lowest power engine, and the the average low power engine consumes about 5 gallons an hour 😂
basically anything other than the biggest two jets have pretty slow consumption that nobody actually worries about it...
