  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@SodiumChloride I tried some of the suggestions for the past half year and it doesn't work. You guys tell me to try more but this is not how it works.
You invest something, and it doesn't return. You don't invest more, you say "ok that's enough" and take your leave.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@SodiumChloride It doesn't matter to me. I have deem the upvoters of this community unworthy, as they like that minecraft A-10. That's what's happening.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@TheReturningHound One more thing, your Mig 21 doesn't really "fill the frame" by the definition of others.
The guys before you in this thread was telling me to make my plane actually touch all four edges of the frame.
I may zoom in a bit, but never to this extent, even if there's a way to avert the FOV issue.

Just so you know, my 40 upvote planes (H11K and Ju288G) both only occupies <50% of the frame.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

Oh and stop telling me to fill the frame. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THIS IS OUT OF QUESTION.

Obviously I will take the size of the thumbnail into consideration when doing the screenshot, but in the end, making the whole picture look nice WHEN CLICKED and making it contextual (able to see what exactly is being done by this plane) will prevail.
It will be taken into consideration as PART of the equation, not ALL of it.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@TheReturningHound You said yourself. "you were famous 3 years ago".
I currently have enough evidence that famous planes get more ups than niche ones.
And nothing is going to change that.
AND, I'm telling you in this thread that I will not bow to this. I will still only make what I like.

There is one sole fact in your reply, and it is this:
"Why do you care if the other guy gets more upvotes than you? This isn't a race to be the top, and don't make it one."

Which is exactly what I am saying in the OP.
I am not going to force myself to follow the "suggestions" that I don't like in order to get upvotes. It has proven that it doesn't work and doesn't worth my pain. From now on I am only going to do what I want to do.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@Aeromen Well obviously you didn't get the point here.
    I DON'T CARE ANYMORE.
I don't care if this complaint is going to ruin my reputation or what, because that's exactly the point here, I, don't, care, anymore.

What SP career? There is no SP career.
I was forced to make stuff I don't like for upvotes and end up not getting those.
So I give up and will only make what I want from now on.
    That's exactly the point here.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@TheReturningHound I'm sick of these "I'm going to be blunt but" BS.
THIS THREAD IS NOT A QUESTION.
I AM NOT ASKING YOU FOR SUGGESTIONS OR WHATSOEVER.

I was saying that I'm fed up with trying to satisfy others' "suggestions" and I am going to only make planes for myself from now on.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@TheMachinist Oh really? I don't see other reasons for me to sign up or to upload.
If I don't want to points I don't need to upload them or even to sign up to this site.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@Mercyaircraftcorporation By making the 10000th Mustang? Or by moving to US time zone? or by taking comedy-style pictures of my planes?
You can see that none of these are feasible to me.

  • HF-27 Phoenix 4.0 years ago

"Is it just me or does every aircraft of mine with custom landing gear swerve to a direction during takeoff"
I think it's a common problem. I try to use non-custom LG for nose gear exactly for this reason...

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@Noname918181 Well how about I put it this way:
Your recent posts looks like they are only for your own interest instead of trying to impress someone in order to get upvotes.

And my OP is basically saying that I'm gonna do the same.

I've done a number of things that I don't want to do in my previous plane:
camo, unneccesary details like fake fuselage sections, trims and constant speed props.
And what I was trying say is that I've had enough and not gonna do that again.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@JustDatGuy "post at a time when many people are on" LOL you just said the US player advantage yourself.
Let me tell you: if I post when I actually finish it, it's exactly when you Americans are SLEEPING.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@CoolPeach "the facts don't care about that at all"
Then we don't care about each other.
Filling the whole frame is what you do with comedy pictures, and my planes are not comedies.
Color? don't tell me to paint it Hello Kitty Pink.
Camouflages are supposed to be matte. I'd like to have glossy finishes myself, too.

@JustDatGuy You don't have to upload your planes in weird time to meet peak US gaming hour. It's actually more significant than you may think because your plane only has a few hour before it's washed away.
And, what I was saying is American "Planes" not American players.
There are people who just make the 10000th P-51 Mustangs and get 3-digit uploads. I don't want to resort to that one day.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Ignorance? that minecraft BS A-10 got upvotes because "murica F-yeah" this is fact. My planes got none because they are prototypes and are not Murica F-yeah, this is also fact.
And that's all I need to know to be infuriated as I am.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii I don't care they see the thumbnail first, they won't see it anyway just because I'm not platinum.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Sincerely speaking, I was not even asking questions in my original post.
All you read are all conclusions. They are already coined without room for discussion.
I just want to say those before some retard try to tell me how to make planes in my next build. (yes there will be one. I will finish at least 1 plane for each of the nations in the series)

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii I AM NOT GOING TO FILL THE FRAME. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME.
This IS a photograph before it's a thumbnail, a "presentation".
If people only want to see plane noses as huge as a A300-600ST then fine, you are all unworthy audiences. Don't even think that I don't dare to label everyone.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii If you want to repeat "PRESENTATION" like a broken record, sure, I'll do the same.
You also need to think about presentation, because to the guy reading your reply, you only sound like "no it's just your fault, it's always your fault, no one else is at fault".

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Let me remind you that the uploader has TRIPLE the followers than I do.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

    @asteroidbook345
"Humans are comfortable with what is familiar. When you make something as radical as what you make, it must seem recognizable. It's a fact that replicas on this site are more appreciated."

Good, this is what I was asking for in my previous thread. And yet all I got was "ur noob git gud.".

BTW I usually tag my blueprint planes as replicas because they did exist. Their blueprints did. The only exception was some planes that I modified too much to fit SP gameplay like the P.1107-II.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Your aircraft should just about be touching the frames of the screenshot

^ this is THE one advice that I will NEVER accept. I said before, DON'T give me suggestions like 100% coverage. Photography, doesn't, work, that, way.

Besides I have concluded that my problem happens BEFORE thumbnail. People don't even get to see it, how would they click it no matter how good it looks?

  • Peeps. Chill. Successors are cool!!! Here’s why: 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii Yes and I think all the fuss were from the not-labeled successors... I think.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@Noname918181 You know, it's not very persuasive when that sentence came from someone who is famous enough and don't have to worry about his posts not being seen at all, let alone being clicked.

I mean, what's the point of preparing all this (description, screenshot, teasers) if they don't convert to upvotes? I can just build my planes and never upload them. I don't even need to make an account.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@asteroidbook345 I don't know what you think, but when I made like 5-10 teasers during the delayed month for Ju288G-2, I have nightmare every night about being banned for repeatedly posting.

And in a way you just agreed to a point that I have been complaining about in my last complaint post and this one:
"People like the 100th mustang over the 1st blueprint aircraft".
In my previous complaint I said it seems people like famous planes. The replies in that thread denies that and keep saying that my planes are noobish.

Now I said they have upvotes just because they are American, and you dodged and agreed it in a different way.

Then there is only one conclusion.
I am not on the same page with the community.
Right from registeration, I actually AVOIDED making anything that people has made before. I only make planes that I know I can be the best in them. There's no P.0310 ANYWHERE on the internet, and my BMW 803 fighter was the first of its kind as well.
All because I dont want to make the 1000th zero or the 2000th Mustang. I want to make the first and the best.

And now the community is punishing me for that.

If that's the case then what I said in this OP is totally correct. I should stop trying to impress an unworthy audience and just make what I want to make.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@asteroidbook345 I tried "many teasers". In my Ju 288.
And in the end I felt like I was scamming people for forum post upvotes.

You know what I'm gonna do next? I'm gonna try and start a comic series. (movies have more limits than comics, and is far more difficult to make. I have a day job which is entirely unaffected by Covid you know.)
Since I went through all the trouble to create a whole bloody parallel universe, it'll be a waste if I don't come up with a story from it.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@asteroidbook345 Contrast is TOO HIGH? You go tell that guy below. He says your plane needs to be very contrasted against the background that's why he suggested all screenshots being shot at Maywar.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@asteroidbook345 "People know where it's form"
Yes this is what exactly I'm talking about.
It doesn't matter how good you build your plane it has to be a famous American plane

    +1
  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii And what do you mean it's tiny in the thumbnail? I have rejected your proposal for 100% aircraft coverage on the frame and I will reject it again.
Photography doesn't work that way. Your plane doesn't look better when you fill the whole frame with it.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii The word blurs out because of the screenshot issues. I did what people taught me to do but lt still blurs a bit.

IT IS NOT BLACK GOD DAMMIT.
It's dark green camo. If you think dark green in ocean background doesn't stand out then it's not my problem.

And there is this Parallel World thing.
I put up a story to enable less-historically correct paint jobs (in order to have more color choices). But in the end it also limits where I can shoot the photo.
The nation of this aircraft only occupies Wright Island, so don't tell me to shoot the screenshot in Maywar like you often do, it belongs to another nation. (and the Maywar nation will, as such, have Desert camo so it's not gonna work anyway)

Given the fact that 60% of the upvotes I got for my P.0310 were obtained AFTER I complained about it (it originally only has 10), I think the problem happens BEFORE thumbnail.
In other words, if people don't even get to see your thumbnail, then it doesn't matter how attractive your thumbnail is.

And what do I need to achieve that? Fame and timezone.
Which I have none. The prime upvote time in US is equivalent to sleeping time in my timezone, and I would like to post the Motorcycle father and child meme pic here:
"I need to be famous to have people upvote me!"
    "Then be famous!"
"But I need to have upvotes before I can be famous!"
    "Just Be Famous!"

  • Peeps. Chill. Successors are cool!!! Here’s why: 4.0 years ago

Wait, are you talking about "successors" or "uncredited successors"?
I don't think many people would object proper successors with auto- or manual-tags.
It is the "successors" that the creator claimed to be fully their own work that causes problems.

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii And you tell me how my P-0310 was superior to my BMW 803? Why does the 310 gets 27 ups yet the 803 only 15?

My most appreciated work, the H11K, got 40 while it doesn't even have two-tone paint job. Why does it have 40? because it participated in a challenge.

It's not even about how you make a plane, how or when you upload. It's all about all those external stuff (how famous you are, how famous your challenge holder is, etc.)

@jamesPLANESii And for presentation, I used an edited picture as the thumbnail for the first time. It is fact that no matter what I did I'm not getting upvotes just because it's not "Brrrrrt".

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.0 years ago

@jamesPLANESii You go look at that "Minecraft Slab" A-10 and try to tell me it's superior in livery.
