@Johnnyynf Gotta admit, that is pretty annoying. I like how it was in Designer Suite. Much more clear and intuitive, and also showed exactly what connection the parts are connected to too
Okay I just disabled all of my mods, and yeah the lag spikes are still happening.
Some planes where I get them, this is a moderately low part count build where I get them, ignore the fact that it's 2x scale and there's a picture of Andrew in the back, they seem to have no effect on the lag spikes since it was doing them before I did that stuff. And my Kitfox is probably my worst build for the lag spikes.
I think it might be because I upgraded my PC recently and didn't quite do it right, causing the lag spikes to be far bigger than usual.
Although, lag spikes in the designer are still there, even when my PCs are working just fine. They also happen on my phone and iPad. They often cause things like numbers not typing in correctly, or clicking on the wrong part or "dragging" stuff unintentionally. Usually it's when you're currently adjusting something or nudging that they happen. For me they usually start when my build has upwards of about 450 parts (very small lag spikes that happen every about 15 seconds) and gradually get worse until they're practically unbearable at about 2500, where they become about 4 seconds every about 10 seconds, and happen almost every time you adjust a part, and judging becomes painfully slow.
The most annoying thing they cause is, when you hilight a part of a number, and replace it with another number, instead of just that number changing, a lag spikes happens the whole thing deletes and changes to the number you typed.
As in, my current build has about 800 parts, but building it in the designer creates as much lag as my Scout Weka did near completion, which as over 3000 parts. It's getting unbearable...
Dunno if this is my computer or not (it likely is), but after this update, I am getting HUGE lag spikes (3 seconds of frozen screen) in the designer now, especially after playing for long sessions. It mostly happens if I do something with a menu open, or while I nudge parts or edit text. If I'm not doing that, they happen regularly every about 15 seconds.
Lag spikes have happened forever, but never this bad. Anyone else getting this?
If you open the XML file for your plane, at the very top, there should be a line that first says thye aircraft name, and then says url and then some weird code. Replace that with "yf63Ny" and then save it. Then try again.
@LarryTad Forst you modify your aircraft and save it, then you go to the down buton next to the downloads thing on this page and press "update XML", then you go to C:\Users[YOUR USER]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns and get the XML thingie of the plane, and yeah
Oh I think the colour textures are a bit messed up for the new wheels. They're all the same colour, the rim is the same colour as the tyre.
You also can't reverse their tread direction, and the select colour flashes when you adjust the size and stuff.
Did you intend for these to be added in this update? They seem far from polished...
@CatMasterLuke Yeah, but when you think about it, what's actually wrong with that? How does them getting upvotes for putting Andrew's face on stuff actually effect you in any way? It's not like this site is a race or a competition. It's not like you can't do the same thing your self and get just as many ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@RamboJutter We curate crafts fir VR
@CarrotSlicingCat Yep and it's pretty easy :)
Yeah, most of my planes take well over 100 hours to complete
Cool! Would be nice if itvhad custom landing gear though
earth is flat because the sp one is
+8Tbh though, can't say much. My current project is basically a PA-28 with a bigger engine and weird wings.

@PhilipTarpley Oh actually, that's a good point. I think I heard something about the MP mod causing lag spikes. I'll have to test when I get home

+5@Kazin Aww thanks! :)
@Kazin I think the worminators was the most legendary meme in SP history, as well as the first really big one.

@Phoebe Why should we have to go into XML to do it

Little suggestion, if you made the tyre a little bigger or the rim smaller for the "rugged" wheel type, it could make it much more versitile.

this is a pretty cool plane, but the joystick doesn't work.
It would be really cool if you could fix it and update the XML, and I can curate it :)
Right eye is still bunged in VR for me.

+6Wheels still often go to max slider settings when you open their settings menu.
+7other things do too, just not as much.
When you reverse the direction of the original tractor wheel, the whole wheel changes it's orientation, not just the tyre.

Little bug: The outside rim for wheels has shifted outward a bit. It's clipping through the fake rims on my cars.
@F1849 probably lol
+3Wait what happened to 1.13 1.14, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17 and 1.18?
+8But... you didn't even build this...
+2Would be nice if the andrewism calmed down a little though
