Use fuselage blocks. If you are trying to use regular blocks, that won't work. Use fuselage sections and then use the parts settings to adjust shape. You can also use fuselage inlets.

Wow. This is super cool. I am only a white rank user, and I'm really actually terrible at making planes, but I know a lot about them. Specifically from this decade, like WWII and post-WWII planes, and I can tell you right know that this pretty accurate. And by pretty I mean really. Absolutely amazing.
