This new X-Wing (coming soon) will have reverse thrust. This will give it a ability to land from Mach .87 to zero in an incredibly short distance. It also has the ability to confuse missiles. The X-Wing can also pitch 90 degrees straight down and remain in a hover. This is known as the "Zaine Maneuver" lol @mrcarrot @wingsiron @winswings
@GuyFolk hilarious, I used to play microprose f117 stealth fighter , so it's close ! Another big one was the original privateer. I played that in college, God I would be up all night playing that thing !
@WowPlanes2ndAccount Thank you, wait until you see Version 4. Has reverse thrusters so powerful you can stay at 100% power, press reverse within 300 yards of the runway and come to a complete stop from 3/4 Mach 1 to Zero mph. It also has automatic X foils the will activate / deactivate based on speed. ( So you don't land with them extended by mistake. Part of R2's head pops up and shoots 18 rockets, he will also (once activated) become upset and continue to stare at the enemy that you are targeting. Furthermore, He has an Ion cannon w aim assist (you still have to do your part but he will get you close) and he will destroy air & ground targets. Finally, if you need a lot more speed, you will actually see R2's computer interface come out of R2, connect with the X-Wing's computer, the X-Wings remote panel will light up and the speed will more than double to about Mach 1.5. I tested in VR, it's just killer.... Z ;)
@JuanShot2Go I originally had a switch, my thought was people were probably not even bothering to open the wings. But more so, if the wings are left open, you could damage them upon landing. So it really is a tough call. So, I figured the sure way to make sure they are closed upon landing is to make it based on speed. (The wings will always be closed when you slow down to land) But don't think that I don't agree with you because I really do, it's the landing thing...... Z :)
@JuanShot2Go I appreciate that. I consider it my best build. I'm ironing out a new version I flew in VR today. The attack wings automatically extend based on speed & the display will show the amount of "Extension" as a percentage. To fully appreciate this build, use orbit mode and watch R2, shoot rockets from his head, use his computer to make the X-Wing go faster, & finally constantly stare at enemies getting ready to use his Ion cannon.
JuanShot2Go, This post is amazing (I spotlighted it & told some friends) I have a question regarding your Cycle targeting button. When I copied your code from the actual button into one of my old builds it didn't quite work 100% The button read "Arm" then when pressed, it read "Air", then when pressed again, instead of reading "Ground" (like it should have) it read "Air" Still. I ONLY copied the code from your button, not any code from your Variable Setters. Is there Code in your variable setters that I need as well ? This detail is REALLY nice and if I use it on ANY of my future builds, you will given credit. Also check out my latest build Here
You guys, this (to me) is amazing ! The instrument panel blowes me away. How you can click the actual gauge to change from mph to kph, and the Cycle button shows if you are in "Air" mode or "ground" mode. (Ok, I'm easily amused but still...) Please take the time to try this one, it deserves it. Z ;) @winswings @guyfolk @beasthunter @mrcarrot
@Skidkid08 Once I figured out what needed to be done, it was a lot of copying, pasting and time. But, I knew the effect would be really cool, so to me it was worth it. Also what needed to be done was an adjustment to the exhaust on the VTOL nozzles. Instead of let's say 2,2,3 for the exhaust, it needed to be changed to 16,16,33 or it wouldn't even be seen.
@Skidkid08 I scaled down a VTOL nozzle and put one in every single pipe, but you also have to make the nozzle faces the correct direction. I matched the X Y Z Rotation (not position) of the very last piece of pipe to make sure the flames shoot in the correct direction down the pipe. It took a long long time...... Z ;)
@blackout404 Thanks for the upvote ! This version has an R2 unit that when activated will stare at enemies you are targeting and even shoot them with his Ion cannon. He also has rockets that will pop out of the top of his Head if killing tanks is your thing ! Press Here
I had no idea you were building a dragster. I saw some weird MrCarrot the other day and that's what made me think of making a dragster....dumb luck.......I downloaded one of your versions of your dragsters, wow really cool. It's funny how you and I both approached the flame issue the same way (with the nozzles) `
@GuyFolk Thanks, Yeah I already have another version of the X-Wing with new features but I don't know how much people can take. I mean yeesh , it's only been like 3 days since a launched the last version...... As far as the programming, I've been learning what the terms mean right ? Like IAS means airspeed, and VTOL and TRIM only go from -1 to 1, etc.. So I have been making changes to your formulas, observing results, and drawing conclusions. .. yep....
@GuyFolk WOW you got the lights to blink differently depending on how much throttle it was getting........ Only you Guyfolk...... Only you....... Lol. Z ;)
@Khanhlam @guyfolk Thanks you guys ! It really means a bunch to me when you take the time to check out my work. It took FOREVER to do all the flames... Lol I'm surprised at how fast the response is on the carb flaps and the flames. I mean you can actually rev the thing . Lol. Z ;)
@Gastonplanes do you know to make a link in a comment ? It's quite easy.
[Press here](https what ever the link address is here) so first these [ ] then these ( )
@winswings @mrcarrot @guyfolk @wingsiron You guys MUST try this ! If for nothing else to watch the Carburetor air intakes open and the headers spit flames. Carrot, you made some sort of car a number of days ago. The second I saw it, I thought........ Dragster ! !
@GuyFolk I took it down because I figured it out myself. It is discussed further down this page. I copied winswings , you, and Mr carrot. It's how I figured out how to get the x-wings to go into attack mode based on speed and how I'm manipulated the systems display to show the X-Wings in the amount they are open in terms of a percentage starting around 180 mph! Check the other loong comment
@Fadepug Thank you for the upvote ! You must try This X-Wing R2 has an Ion cannon the most powerful weapon on the ship and he can help in dog fighting and ground attacks. Press R2 D2, then press Cycle for attack mode (air to air etc) , then press WPN for ion cannon. R2 has aim assist but you still must help. It is so much fun dog fighting with R2's Ion cannon !
This is nothing short of Incredible. I wish I could spotlight it....but I don't have enough points. : ( You should consider putting a cockpit in this. It would be the icing on the cake.
@AvalonIndustries Thank you for the upvote. Hopefully you had time to fly it. R2's Ion cannon is the most powerful weapon on the ship. It is so much fun in dog fighting.
@WinsWings Win, I am still working another version of the X-Wing. I have made the following changes. The X-wings spread apart now automatically based on speed. They start at about 180-200 mph. The reason is 2 fold. 1 you might forget to hit the button to go into attack mode or 2 you may forget to hit the button and LAND in attack mode (maybe damaging your wings) Next, (This took 3 hours for me to figure out) I know NOTHING about programming but I'm not an idiot either. I figured out how to have the system display show the Wings in Attack mode in terms of a percentage. 100% = Fully extended. On my screen it will read 0% until the X-Wings begin to spread at about 180 mph. Then by 300 or so, they are maxed at 100% This next part will knock your socks off (I couldn't believe it worked) I programed a beacon light ( That is next to the X-Wings in my systems panel) to begin to flash quicker than fast speed when the X-Wings begin to deploy , again around 180 pmh. It will continue to flash until the X-Wings close then it will stop flashing. HA ! ! How cool is that !! Anyways, these are all on yet ANOTHER build I'm working on. Later Boss man ! @guyfolk @mrcarrot
@HTTPCREATION1O2 @V @winterro @QuantumRadar1000 First I would like to say thank you, I knew you guys would help me. BUT. All of you comments assume I know how to do even the most BASIC programming. I DON'T. All I do is copy the formulas the YOU write, copy and paste them. If they work , I am able to make small modifications based on pure guesses and observe the results. So I guess what I'm saying is I need somebody to actually look at the label, that shows the systems (canopy, X-Wing, gear, trim. Hook, etc) and give me the entire formula that would change the label to say attack from normal. I think it could be as simple as when the speed is greater than 200 then show the word "attack" OR if someone would fix it FOR me, repost, then I could download it. But the moral of the story is "I know squat about programming" lol thanks again guys !
I got to work early tomorrow so I'm off to bed buddy.......see ya Carrot !
@MrCarrot of course I know that.... Lol
You had me at Carrot Planes
@MrCarrot Oh, how cool....... Lol...Z ;)
@MrCarrot Thank you you had already seen it before I had even finished typing my first comment. LOL

+1This is pretty cool. First time out I was able to fly around, come back, and land successfully. I like it !
+2The RPM gauges are a nice touch
@mama1387974238742 @Johnnyynf Thanks for the upvotes ! ! !

@V Oh that's so smart ! I have been working on the front of mine as well only because it flips backwards on jumps. VTOL for wheelies ! So smart !
@Echostar @winswings @MrKtheguy @Panzerwaifu69 Thanks you guys for checking this out. It means a lot to me that you guys like it ! Zaine. ;)
