For one, make sure that all parts (except bombs, missiles, and torpedoes) have partCollisionResponse set to None. This will make it invincible to crashes, but as such it will make explosive ordinance useless if they're set to None.

My side, the MGLA, won the war and survived long after it, but got a slight rebranding since the mission was successful- since MGLA stood for Machine Gun Liberator Allies. New name became MDA, or Mouse Defender Allies, and we're currently at war again, the S-War I presume you've heard about as well.
