There’s a lot of emotion when the word ‘Imola’ pops up for that season. “If you don’t take an opportunity in a race, well you’re no longer a racing driver” very true. I like how he raised the profile of Brazil and was quite charitable alongside his personal jet etc. :) @theeunknown
Utterly magnificent. You should do a tutorial on how to make realistic wing flex. If i was nit picking I'd say it accelerates too quickly but its an absolute pain to get the right trade-off with performance - i fell foul myself with my gloster. Rather irritating!
I think you can put that down to a different RJ ltd consortium - after all I didn’t notice until you mentioned it. I’m not dyslexic (never been tested though :)) but you eyes read what they expect to see most the time anyway. @RamboJutter
i made this a while back so can’t recall how it flies. If I was to do it again I would minimise the power of the overhead engine and bury a small xml modded jet in the hull to encourage the opposite effect. I haven’t mastered ‘water physics’ as all my seaplanes seem to stick to the water. Apparently you can clip in modded wing sections to increase lift for the fuselage to omit that but I’ve yet to experiment with it. Make sure you add
Around 150lbs of dead weight to each section you want buoyancy otherwise it just doesn’t float right weirdly.... @MadBeaver2
NASA called.... they want that super computer back now.
Funny thought, this could be the worst functioning floaty thing of all time on SP but who’s going to know right?!?
Thanks for the spot @EpicPigster1 most kind! I agree, as far as general aviation went they had no vicious characteristics and would have/did make good trainers. Powerplants were always a big issue after they chose to fit the more reliable but less performing wright cyclone engines more suited to transport/bombers. A lot of these engines were reconditioned in cottage industry workshops that led to noticeable difference in performance from one engine to another - noticed in sqn climbs etc. Really quite a fascinating kite. Theres a lot of info out there and pilot diaries etc I just got comp[letely absorbed and was in danger of putting together a thesis - but no one reads the description lets face it!
@RamboJutter in RAF colours of course? :) Typical Gen-Melchitt-from blackadder-type hierarchy insisting they fight like spits!! The fall of Singapore is a really fascinating subject for me and just goes to show the effects of morale (bloody tea supply must have been cut) and underestimating your enemy. Ever since our armed forces have had good training in extreme environments. I bet Airfix dont sell the buffalo anymore - probably sold the tooling to competitors unless im mistaken and they still produce it!
Oh I like simple, just like me! @CrushburnHQ The buffalo was just like the Fairey Battle when the Second World War came about, they were just obsolete. A lot of early 30s monoplanes went that way, it was a period of rapid change. Kind of like post war jets of the late 40s-early 50s. With that said the Buffalo was a forgiving aircraft to fly apparently and had plenty of room in the cockpit. It just wasn’t front line material in 1941. I tend to focus on the negatives when writing about aircraft like this. Probably my dark sense of humour. Trust me, I think Buffalo pilots had a darker sense of humour though.
@CRJ900Pilot probably a lower stress environment than tangling with zeros/oscars. Pilots at war always have an understated way of putting their woes. For instance i watched a doc on Op corporate (retaking the falklands) and there was this harrier pilot saying they were outnumbered six-to-one and just said nonchalantly "its what we call a target rich environment..."
Yeah I'd buy that guy a beer.
Thanks @ChiChiWerx I spent a fair bit of time trying to find videos online of people flying one on flight sims etc to make sure I was close to RL handling - I knew it was poor, just how poor I wasn’t sure. For a 1st gen monoplane I don’t suppose it was a bad fighter for the 30s. Brewster didn’t help matters with their manufacturing process either.
Trying to see what’s going on there - do you make your texts attached to a central spar so it’s just a case of rotating the spar? That’s quite clever (and also v simple :)) I’ve never thought of that - I just struggle with nudge and rotating each letter :)
Damn, I gotta quite drinking....
Fritz works but is hard to control. I would scale the wings down to increase lift and improve handling and maybe throw in a gyro to make it more stable? Overall it’s a cool feature well done!
Christ, I wouldn’t have spotlighted this mess but thank you anyway, most kind of you sir! @ACEPILOT109
This works like a charm, takes the beasts flotilla out in good style!

+1It’s a little rustic but I agree, he was a hero! I take it you’ve watched ‘Senna’? @theeunknown
+1Thank you! @Mage2IsTriggered nice unique challenge, shame there was not more interest but I tried with the spotlight.

You building this 1:1?
Oh and capital “T” from me!
Good choice! I was torn between the kingfisher and the buffalo, glad someone was also thinking along those lines!
Another neat looking build, fantastic job!

Thought you had the challenge in the bag with your first entry, now you’re just showing off :) that airfix box art is awesome, nice touch!
Magnificent looking beast and the Texas is a beast! Was fortunate enough to visit her when I was a kid, great stuff!

Awesome job as ever!
I love watching old(er) movies and seeing this livery. Good job!
+1No worries! Neat build, realistic flight characteristics too! @masotan15
+2Man this thing is magnificent, nice flier too!
Very neat design, reminds me of the chipmunk!
+1I do like the B-47, neat build as well.
Definitely the latter, real life can be paused can’t it....:) @RamboJutter
+1Mate, the 10th of June passed a week ago.....
Nice build, first I’ve ever seen of this type so you get an instant spot from me!
NASA called.... they want that super computer back now.
+8Funny thought, this could be the worst functioning floaty thing of all time on SP but who’s going to know right?!?
Sounds good but I think you may need more detail like part count, mods, whether it’s a successor build or not etc
+3Thanks for spotlighting this barrel! @Sgtk and @Diloph
+1I must try that game out! @Shippy456

Thanks @RamboJutter for the spot, you're a legend! Maybe you could do some hybrid buffalo from the RJ Ltd industries realm in the future?

@F4Mustang my builds dont normally have that affect but thank you :)

@F4f879 thankS mate!
+1Thank you very much @CRJ900Pilot That would explain why it took so long for the gear to raise in the videos I’ve been watching! :)

Utterly magnificent. Must have been living in a cave when this was published!
+1Or was the wildcat a prefab buffalo.... @asteroidbook345
Mwahahaha..... :)
Yeah, my buffalo has a friend!
+2Fritz works but is hard to control. I would scale the wings down to increase lift and improve handling and maybe throw in a gyro to make it more stable? Overall it’s a cool feature well done!
+1I really like this bomber type and I’m glad someone has built it!
+1No problem, I’ll make an attempt at an F1 car! @Mobius1Cyka
Thanks for your recent interest! @Suubk27
+1I do like seeing retro livery’s, good job!
+1Cracking job, love the screenshots!
+1You’ve (quite rightly) surpassed me now so I’m not able to spotlight this magnificence! Good job!
Love the detail and under 500 parts too!
+1This is a really cool looking build and rather unique too, bravo!
incredible tail art!
Sounds like a really cool challenge - I may have to learn how to build cars....
