@F4f879 This one doesn't fly level even on autopilot -- it keeps losing altitude, and when autopilot is disengaged, it keeps going down and into the water rather quickly.
I'd prefer a simple featureless tube that launches whatever you tell it to, rather than an actual cannon that looks like a cannon and fires only one kind of shell. With the generic, featureless launcher you could make it look like whatever you want, and have it fire shells that you could design yourself. Also, a simple model would be easier to add than a complex cannon model with animations, etc.
@EternalDarkness Yeah. The reason I don't add them to my builds any more is because they add so many parts. A 60-shot BombCannon means 121 extra parts. I wish the developers would make a generic launcher that would just spawn whatever it's launching (bombs, shells, fuselage blocks, subassemblies) at the moment of firing.
@EternalDarkness Maybe it works for recoil, but it doesn't damage bridges or windmills any more. I tried setting impactForce to 5 million, and nothing happens.
But if you really want to destroy windmills and bridges, nothing beats the good old full-auto BombCannon.
@EternalDarkness Something tells me you haven't tested that build lately... impactForce used to do that, it was removed entirely in the 1.7 update. I, too, used to enjoy pushing ships around and demolishing bridges with bullets...
@Ephwurd I know, but you could easily replace those decorative rotators with about 10 fuselage blocks, and get more of a decorative effect, moreover it would fly much better.
@WalrusManufacturingCo2 Umm, I'm not thinking about your or anyone else's experience at all. All that matters is how well your aircraft performs. Whoever can build the aircraft that flies the most level will win, whether they have a million points or a hundred.
@JoeCFX I'm flying all entries the regular way, and to aim them, I use cockpit view, and try to place the crosshair exactly on the destroyer. Here's a video showing the testing procedure with one of my aircraft.
This does very well, informal tests show that the delta-h is about 200 feet. The only problem with this build is that the crosshair is obscured by a fuselage block in front of it, meaning I can't actually use it to aim the aircraft. If you could just move the cockpit up or forward so it has an unobstructed view, this would be the new top contender. Nice work.
Thanks for entering, but this build doesn't meet the minimum speed requirement (1500 mph). It also has a strong nose-up tendency, meaning it would never hit the island.
@grizzlitn Thanks, I just did some informal tests. This build has a strong nose-up tendency, and starts to climb immediately after disengaging autopilot. It doesn't even come close to hitting the island, I'm afraid.

@ATHAIREN Sorry, that would open the door to relaxing all the other rules, as well.
@Alien There's no humiliation in an honest effort at anything, old top. The only humiliation is in not even trying.
@KSPFSXandSP Yeah, there's definitely some B-1 in there. I thought of making a Concorde as you suggested, but it was too... civilian... for me.
@Z3RO Thanks, I do put out more conventional designs... occasionally :)
@TheGuyYouMightKnow Extra thanks, buddy!
@RMark1 Impressive. What phone is that?
@RMark1 Thanks! Upload the gif somewhere, get the URL, then use this:

@BaconRoll Now you're giving me ideas... how about Donkey's Desire?
@RailfanEthan I'm relieved.
@Quagga Thanks! Lots of practice, thinking outside the box, incremental efficiencies... and most importantly, staying true to my vision.
@EternalDarkness

@EternalDarkness Try them on ships... see the gif here to see the effect.
I didn't know bullets could damage windmills -- can they? I thought only explosive weapons could do that, just like with bridges.
@EternalDarkness You don't consider these OP enough? Every bullet hit causes an explosion...
I keep forgetting that a crosshair that looks good at 4K will be too small on a smaller monitor. Maybe I need to start building multiple cockpits.
@EternalDarkness Yeah. Very un-aerodynamic, but fancy :)
@Treadmill103 I guess they tend to get lost among the other stuff :)
@Treadmill103 Yeah, the ribs are hard to miss. My favourite feature on this build is the nozzles, though.
@Treadmill103 What do you like best about it?
Thanks, @Jetpackturtle
Cool. Now try making a flyable rocket using regular engines.
@RailfanEthan Wait... are you saying this build isn't sweet beans?
@MartinCoetzee I get that a lot :)
Thanks, @rubbishcraft
Now if only points were dollars, @RailfanEthan
@Ephwurd Here you go. It's got a bunch of shaders, the one you see in the screenshots is OrangeBlueSaturated.
@Ephwurd It's a custom shader I wrote. Let me set up a website where I can upload this stuff, I'll send you a link shortly.
@Ephwurd Thought you might like this one. What do you think of the custom nozzles?
Thanks, @GermanWarMachine
@realluochen9999 Nice, that's my first spotlight in quite some time. Thanks.
Thanks, @Dllama4

@mikoyanster Look forward to your entry.
@KSPFSXandSP Yeah, quite similar.
@Camroncs Good luck with the exam/test/whatever.
@Camroncs Well, feel free to add some if you like.
@Camroncs It's ok, you're welcome to whatever opinion you have.
You have a very distinctive style, and it keeps getting better.
@phanps Yes, that's right. Thanks, glad you like the plane.

@WalrusManufacturingCo2 Rank doesn't matter, all that matters is whether someone can create an aircraft that flies straight.
This does very well, informal tests show that the delta-h is about 200 feet. @JoddyFubuki788 No problem

@JohnnyBoythePilot Yeah, I wish the sandbox had more targets, as well.
