  • Hey all! I am a new member to SP 7.5 years ago

    @FinalGambit Welcome. As for tips, learn the fundamentals first, before progressing to complex builds. Try to be unique, don't just do the same thing everyone else is doing. Get into XML modding from the beginning. And have fun.

  • Pugnacius 7.5 years ago

    @FinalGambit that's pretty much what i do - build designs that vary greatly in aesthetic style but have the best performance that SP can offer. All my airplanes perform equally well, so the user is completely free to choose whatever they like based purely on the looks.

  • Phalanx II 'Bridge Buster' 7.5 years ago

    @DerekSP The ice base has already been dealt with. And I do have an aimable cannon that can hit the WW2 destroyers. I'll convert that to a fixed-aim one and upload it sometime.

  • Pugnacius 7.5 years ago

    @Jetpackturtle Thanks. I did make one, but probably won't be making any more. Mainly because due to some real-life events, I now have a deep loathing of loud noises.

  • Pugnacius 7.5 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot That's exactly what I was going for, good catch.

    @RailfanEthan Crispy chicken

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @FinalGambit Thanks. I originally intended to, but most people in this community have ignored me, or treated me with disrespect. So...

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @MasonForester It's not a VTOL engine, it's a whole system I came up with. You can read about it here. You can use that as a chassis for your VTOL builds. The movement speed is controlled by the engines' power.

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @KillerDread OK, I'll make a parts post soon and I'll include that.

  • Phalanx II 'Bridge Buster' 7.5 years ago

    @iLikeipads Thanks, but mass destruction? My weapons are very precise, the opposite of mass destruction...

  • Great Ball of Gunfire 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @Zanedavid

  • Orbitus II 7.5 years ago

    Glad you like them, @Zanedavid. By the way, if you like a build, you can upvote it -- it doesn't cost anything and it makes the uploader feel better :)

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @FlyingFish1 . I take great pride in the performance of my builds. My dive bombers can actually dive bomb accurately, and my long-range artillery can in fact hit targets on other islands.

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @MasonForester Sure. Do you just want modded engines, or do you want them hooked up to a specific input, like roll/yaw? If you just want modded engines, you can grab my parts kit here. It has engines with up to 50x power output. If that doesn't do what you need, let me know and I'll make a custom post for you.

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @123Planebuilder Yeah, I could do that. I'll put it on my list.

  • Phalanx II 'Bridge Buster' 7.5 years ago

    @QingyuZhou I know, right?

  • Apollo-SD 7.5 years ago

    @KSPFSXandSP Actually, it's the Command and Service Module... and I used 'Eagle' because it's cooler than 'Charlie Brown' etc.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @FlyingFish1

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @Davisplanez

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @MI Big builds have lots of advantages, and as far as I can tell, no disadvantages other than not being able to land on the carriers. They're also bigger targets in dogfights, but as long as both planes are big that just adds to the fun.

  • Audacius 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @ChristianFennell

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @chancey21 Nope. I don't use any third-party software other than a code editor.

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    @chancey21 Yes, but the part count would be prohibitive. It'd have to be made up of a bunch of tapering rings, and each ring would need, at a minimum, 30 parts. So if you use 10 rings, you'd need 300 parts, and it still wouldn't look smooth.

  • Spectre II 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @chancey21, that's good to know.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Stingray Air-to-ground something, huh? Sounds interesting.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Stingray link

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Stingray yeah, it should be in my two most recent posts pages. Missile pod, burst fire it's called.

  • Skysalter 7.5 years ago

    @Sunnyskies the angle is fine, i meant removing the platform and using a brighter background using a designer mod.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Stingray thanks, don't forget the modded interceptors though.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @Alpha029 . It's actually very simple: Make it look fast, powerful and dangerous.

  • Phalanx II 'Bridge Buster' 7.5 years ago

    @FlyingNarwhal There's a third bridge?

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 Yeah, I guess it is. Anyway, I'm signing off. Watch out for dem pests.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 Yep. Next time you see a woman, give her a hug and say "I understand."

    Oh wait...

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 Way to ruin a party. They don't tend to take no for an answer either, right? I used to think women made too big a deal out of harassment, but after experiencing firsthand what hateful pests some "men" can be, I finally understood how bad women have it.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 Well, that's all good then. It's sad I had to ask, but after quite a few nasty surprises I've learned to be suspicious of compliments from men.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Jetpackturtle Easy there, Whitney Houston...

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Why, thank you, @Davisplanez

  • Skysalter 7.5 years ago

    Nice. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by not using better screenshots for your airplanes.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Yeah I got that, thanks, but the way you phrased it ("it still looks cool") sounds like "It looks cool even though...", that's all. I know what you meant.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 Err, are you hitting on me now? 'Cause I don't swing that way.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Thanks, but if I didn't think it looked cool I wouldn't have uploaded it...

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Yeah, I suppose there's a resemblance, though I conceived it as a generic 4.5-gen fighter.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    @Mustang51 If I was compensating, I'd be building really tiny airplanes...

  • Takswagen Venturis RetroFlash 7.5 years ago

    Wow. The interior especially is really nice.

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @Mustang51. I have my reasons for building big, you know :)

  • Longsword 7.5 years ago

    Thanks, @Treadmill103. I'm always torn between adding more detail and keeping part count low enough to be usable for most people.

  • SSBN Columbia VTOL 7.5 years ago

    Oh, I know anything can be made to fly in SP. I meant that there isn't much for a submarine-as-submarine to do in SP. Nice build, though it could use some missile tubes with operational hatches.
