@Cream Well, I don't think this airframe would make sense as a hover-type craft, but I'll give it a go. If you're talking about Brutus as an airplane, I just did that a few days ago. The handling of that thing is something to behold.
@Jengstrom That's not even possible -- you can set the drag to zero in the XML, but the game recalculates it every time you load the build or take it into the sandbox.
@chancey21 Welcome to the sorry, sad world of upvoting cliques. Look at my builds. One outstanding, one-of-a-kind build after another, but hardly any of them goes over 20 upvotes. Some people are so threatened by my ranking up so quickly. Never underestimate the resentment of the mediocre.
But, you know what, those people are only sealing their fates as losers. People who are threatened by achievement and success can have nothing but a frustrating life, and I take great pleasure in that.
@chancey21 Upvoting that plane is probably an in-joke at this point, it doesn't mean anything. And everyone chooses what's important to them. To me, poor flight capabilities are a deal breaker. Others may not care about them at all.
@Mostly What??? No way, it's totally accurate. Kelly Johnson himself came down from the great hangar in the sky and told me so. In fact, he told me it's more accurate than the real thing.
It's all about expectations, one way or another. Most builds on SP are models -- they don't fly especially well, or perform their functions especially well (no offence intended, to anyone -- well-built models are great). For instance, an airplane may have aimable turrets, but it doesn't fly stably enough, or the turrets aren't controllable enough to hit anything. So it's understandable that a lot of users don't see the point in downloading something. They look at the images and part count, and hit upvote.
This really hurts the few builds that do function well, though. To get around this, if you have a functional build, make a GIF of it doing its thing and include it in the description. This will let people know that they can actually have some fun with your build.
@EternalDarkness Thanks for the vote of confidence. Your builds are the same, always high quality.
@JetCarRacer No problem. One more thing, try to distinguish your successive builds visually somehow. If the thumbnail looks the same, people will think it's a repost. Even something as simple as racing stripes will let people know that this one's different from the last one.
I like how you're exploring the game's flight model. There's no reason a 3000 mph aircraft can't be as stable as a 1000 mph one. Here's what you can fix:
Roll control surfaces need to be aligned with the center of mass
Wing loading is too low, which is what causes flutter at high speeds; try to get it above 20 lbs/sq ft
For high speed flight, you need to reduce the maxDeflectionDegrees of control surfaces for optimal handling. It's just like real airplanes -- if you deflect a control surface 35 degrees at Mach 3, the wing will probably break apart. To increase/decrease the control authority, adjust hingeDistance and/or the size of the control surface.
@BaconRoll Ahh, let him do what he wants, he's not breaking any rules. @Latios22 you're welcome, but just so you know, you won't get many upvotes for stuff like this.
@Lahoski107 Yeah, and the reason you didn't know I exist is because this website is full of people like you, who don't upvote good builds. Damned right this deserves upvotes, but I don't want yours.
@SuperSix OK, I get what you mean. But as long as the missile's attachment point is sticking out of the casing, it'll connect to anything that comes within reach. You'll need to either scale down the missile, or scale up the casing. Which do you want me to do?
@Mustang51 It's only annoying when you don't understand why that's happening. When you realise it's because of old-fashioned resentment and jealousy, you can take pleasure in that. If you can cause so much resentment without even trying, by just doing what you do, well, that's pretty cool... :)
I think you'll have to put in a bit more effort than that if you expect to get many upvotes. Moreover, a lot of people on this site won't upvote my builds or their successors, so you've go that going against you.
Thanks, @Cream
@KaiserTheKeyboard Alien ship, flying sculpture, whatever you want to make of it.
@Treadmill103 Yep. He only changed seven colours, kids these days just don't try hard enough...
@Treadmill103 Yeah, I got what you meant, just kidding.
Thanks, @Treadmill103. But did you say colors? :)
Thanks, @RailfanEthan. May thy beans ever be sweet, and thy chili hot. Amen.
+3Thanks, @Walawalk
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
@KeemstarPlanes by using reshade with a custom shader. If you're on Windows you can do the same. The link to my shaders is on my profile.

Thanks, @Cream. But which build are you talking about... this one?
@Mostly Even more ironic, I never studied it (formally) at all.
@chancey21 OK, I will.
@Mostly I'll give you a hint: curve sampling.
@chancey21 Nope. I create the shape directly using code.
@Cream Oh hello, MrMecha, it's been a while. Good to have you back, although I hope your old builds haven't been lost.
Thanks, @Treadmill103. It's the little things, isn't it...
@chancey21 Good to know. I'll try to keep that in mind.
@Jengstrom That's not even possible -- you can set the drag to zero in the XML, but the game recalculates it every time you load the build or take it into the sandbox.
@chancey21 Really? But it's so... simple. Thanks, though.

@TheCanadianCuban Yeah, I'm not a Satan-worshipper or anything.
@SkiClad Also, this thing is a beast, and 666 is, well, the number of the Beast...

@phanps I don't mind at all. I don't get follow/unfollow notifications, anyway.
@BaconRoll Ahh, let him do what he wants, he's not breaking any rules. @Latios22 you're welcome, but just so you know, you won't get many upvotes for stuff like this.
Here you go. Didn't have to scale it down, after all.
@TheCanadianCuban I didn't plan for it, but it came out at 664, so I added two.
@Lahoski107 Oh really, you're going to teach me the rules now? I said:
> I don't want yours.
That's the opposite of demanding upvotes. Now if you're done spouting nonsense, take your upvotes and comments and go away.
@Lahoski107 Yeah, and the reason you didn't know I exist is because this website is full of people like you, who don't upvote good builds. Damned right this deserves upvotes, but I don't want yours.

@RocketBoy101252 Sure, but I'm not sure what he wants done.
@Mustang51 Yes, it truly is.
@KSPFSXandSP I've got an even better one coming up.
@KSPFSXandSP Formidable-looking beast, isn't it?
@KSPFSXandSP It would take some time to explain. You up for it?
@Mustang51 It's only annoying when you don't understand why that's happening. When you realise it's because of old-fashioned resentment and jealousy, you can take pleasure in that. If you can cause so much resentment without even trying, by just doing what you do, well, that's pretty cool... :)

+1@Latios22 Or this one.
@Latios22 If you want something with the same functionality but mobile-friendly, try this build.
@Latios22 Try its predecessor, it only has 375 parts.
@Latios22 If a gun can't make ships explode, what good is it?
@Latios22 This one isn't meant to be flipped over... if you want one that flies like an airplane, try its successor.
@Lahoski107 Do you make a habit of not upvoting amazing builds? Or are you one of those who've taken a vow never to upvote my builds?
@Mustang51 I can't even imagine building on a tablet or mobile phone. I'd feel handicapped.
@Lahoski107 That's all you have to say about this build?
