@Sirstupid I guess I should probably post more often then hahaha. I'm helping General360 with a big project just now, but I want to test your Nano and attempt an entry for your contest next
Not that I know of. It would be quite useful. The only thing I've found as an alternative so far is mounting wings on rotators, but that's pretty cumbersome.
Unfortunately they don't work in the descriptions of planes, so I usually just say that a link will be in the comments and post them there. However, for forum posts and comments, use this format:
@Sirstupid CoT is usually not an issue unless it's really far above or below the CoM, but unfortunately that's exactly what happens on designs like what Classic is talking about.
@HakkeAirTech here you go. You'll have to forgive the weird roll issue when pitching, this was my first XML-heavy build and I hadn't really gotten the hang of it yet. I hope you like it, though.
@Ambarveis seriously I racked up a huge number of hours on SP during the beta because it has such a low impact on the system that I just left it running in the background when I wasn't playing it. Steam does refunds if it doesn't work, anyway, so long as it's within a couple of hours of play.
If you go to page 2 (or any page except the first one), there will be a part of the URL that says "p=2". This is the page number. Change the "2" to whichever page you want to go to.
These planes are very tricky to balance, and you're totally right about the high engines being responsible. If you can fit a trim surface on (like mounting the horizontal stabilisers on rotators), that can help counter it. I'm fairly sure that's how they did it in real life. If that isn't an option, I can give it a shot, I got a similar plane by Cedy117 flying with a little XML editing. dsr1aviation is a great builder, though, and no offence will be taken if you send it to him/her first!
@batryhak you can't directly message people, unfortunately, so commenting on the thing you're adapting is probably your best bet. If you want to show them what you've done so far, you can upload it as an unlisted plane and give them a link, that way it won't show up on your page or the new planes area.
RocketLL just put up a forum post the links to where you can suggest new tags, it seems you're in luck! Also if you want pushers, I've build a mobile-friendly Saab 21 and a more recent fictional fighter for a contest, both of which are pushers.
@Jasperjl so do I, I really like putting two of them against each other to see how my planes perform. Hopefully everyone else can get a taste of that with TomServo's contest, though
@ExperimentalDesign shouldn't do. Most of the factors that make forward-swept wings weird in real life (stalling differently and structural issues at the root) aren't modelled in SP, so as long as you keep your CoL in the right general area, we're free to make as many sweet Su-47 ripoffs as we like
@ExperimentalDesign you mean dihedral? It does. An upwards dihedral increases roll stability, giving your plane a tendency to roll towards horizontal. A downward one, or anhedral, does the opposite
I've built a fair number of planes with forward-swept wings, it doesn't make any difference. In real life it affects where the wing stalls, but I don't think SP models that
If they're causing your plane to change direction, try to make sure that you use airbrakes in symmetric pairs. After all, they're basically just giant control surfaces. I made a divebomber a while back that has airbrakes on the training edge of the wings, something like that might work for you. It's called the de Havilland-Fairey Dragonet, I think
AndrewGarrison's recent forum post about the impact of YouTubers ruled against this. The devs have also implemented tags for planes that are intended for YouTube
@Nickasaurus @MrBackstabby the ally of Dál Riata is actually Proxima Centauri, from @CanofBeans . Since both of our civilisations have found themselves a little marginalised and forgotten in the greater scheme of human space exploration, Dál Riata will not be a part of the Universal Alliance, although we aren't looking for trouble
This is definitely a problem with the game. It's probably worth backing your planes up and reinstalling, and then contacting the devs if that doesn't work
Alright so for me it was Internal storage\Android\data\com.Jundroo.SimplePlanes\files\AircraftDesigns. This may vary depending on your phone, whether or not you're using an SD card etc, but it should give you an idea of what to look for.
I usually find it easiest to paint every part the same colour, and then paint the parts I want to edit unique colours. If I make the parts I can ignore all the first colour in the editor, they all get " materials=“0“ " in the XML. Painting the engine you want to clip the next colour, and the part you want to clip it in to the colour after that, will give those parts materials 1 and 2, so you can identify them nice and easily.
There's not really anywhere for a tutorial to be kept that everyone could find it easily, unfortunately. Clipping parts on mobile is a lot more difficult, because you can't use the nudge controls like laSoul suggested, but it's still possible. You're on Android, so xml editing is probably your best option. You can open the file for any of your planes in a text editor and change the values for positions/rotations/whatever else in there while totally ignoring the normal rules of the editor. I can't recall the location of the saves on Android off the top of my head, but I'll see if I can find out and get back to you
We don't know what will be in the mobile update yet, it depends on what the devs are able to get working well on the less powerful systems. The only new parts added by v1.3 are the (numerous) weapons, but it had a lot of other features. It has far more challenges than previous versions, and AI pilots too.
@Rexeh ah well that's nice and easy then. Try the nudge controls first (the number pad, if you're using the default controls). 4 & 6 move forwards and backwards, 2 & 8 do left and right, and 1 & 7 do up and down. If you want to edit the XML files, they are in C;\Users(you)\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\AircraftDesigns. Make sure you use backups
Which platform are you playing on? If you're on PC you can edit the XML or just use the nudge controls, which are the easiest methods. It can be done on other platforms too, but it's a little trickier and mostly involves resizing fuselage parts or rotating things
@Sirstupid this looks good. To make a guess: is this a parasite fighter?
I've not modded props before, but I'm happy to take a look if nobody with practice is able to
@Sirstupid oh, cool, tag me when it's up so I can see!
@Sirstupid I guess I should probably post more often then hahaha. I'm helping General360 with a big project just now, but I want to test your Nano and attempt an entry for your contest next
@GINGER01 nope
@Cedy117 cheers dude
@Sirstupid thanks to you, it's very kind of you to have sent all those votes my way

So, for example:

Anything from the Wipeout games (a sample of craft) - (the wiki)
The BAe P.125 (image 1) - (image 2) - (wiki page)
The David Rose RP-4 (article with images)
A hydrofoil (wiki page) - (one of mine)
A walker
Fixed link. That is quite impressively small, it'll be tough to beat
@Chemicalau yeah, that's the best option for now
I'd suggest using a Google hangout instead, you can just make a new profile with no real information for that
Here you go

Also I want to add: nice one for actually considering the original creator

Very comfortably controllable when hovering. Low physics users, beware of the engines
@thecoolgamer101 I can give it a shot.
@Sirstupid thanks. Not sure when I'll get around to those last hundred points though haha

@AviownCorp yeah, should be coming to other platforms this month
@HakkeAirTech I can give you an unarmed version to use in the meantime, if you like
The new weapons don't require action groups, and the update added two more action groups as well.
If they're causing your plane to change direction, try to make sure that you use airbrakes in symmetric pairs. After all, they're basically just giant control surfaces. @CrazyKrash that's good to hear, have fun!
This is definitely a problem with the game. It's probably worth backing your planes up and reinstalling, and then contacting the devs if that doesn't work
I'm glad you like it here, welcome aboard. Congratulations on the early feature too!
@mbmadnes32 Jundroo have a guide up on the reddit, found here. There is also a link to /r/SPMod in the sidebar.

@Bando89 huh, that's weird, it worked when I tested it. So long as you got it sorted, though, that's what counts!
@Biggie88smalls links work on any platform, just use the same format as normal:
@Stingray "Mobile Suit" in this case is the name of the mechs in Gundam
@Rexeh ah well that's nice and easy then. Try the nudge controls first (the number pad, if you're using the default controls). 4 & 6 move forwards and backwards, 2 & 8 do left and right, and 1 & 7 do up and down. Here is a tiny glider that I made for you, try putting that on the back

@FlightDucky20 it sounds complicated but it's pretty easy when you actually do it. Give it a shot, you'll be fine
@SalemASaberhagen happy new year to you too! And to everyone else here, make it a good one guys
