@Bobyo the story behind this plane reminds me a lot of the MiG-25:
- It was the fastest fighter jet ever made at the time, able to intercept just about any bomber
- The West was terrified of it
- One MiG-25 pilot wanted to defect from the Soviet Union and decided to offer his plane to the United States in order to be granted asylum there, knowing that the US desperately wanted any information on the aircraft.
- Therefore, during a group exercise over the east side of Russia, the pilot reported “engine issues” and diverted his MiG to an airbase in Japan, where it crash-landed but suffered minor damage
- When the US inspected the MiG-25, they found that the plane lacked maneuverability and was extremely heavy. Furthermore, its engines could not sustain its reported speed of Mach 3.1, reducing the plane’s practical cruise speed to Mach 2.8. And with the US stopping production on their supersonic bomber, the XB-70, the MiG-25’s role was pretty much obsolete
@ColonelCanada your post seems to be working; even though the "I'm leaving" posts continue to be made, they no longer appear on the "Hottest Posts" page
You should place this plane and my DC-10 side-by-side and take a photo, it's just satisfying to see 2 planes with the exact same livery together
(i follow you already so i don't need to be tagged)
@TheSonOfThunder sorry i'm late
- Originality: 10/10 (concept was almost never heard of, and only 1 other of this plane exists on the site)
- Looks: 14/15 (smooth, with fuselage parts. Accuracy is obviously perfect. And I like how you put all the labels on the plane, even though you didn't need to; it shows how you strive for maximum accuracy)
- Performance: 13/15 (no problems with the flying, except that the flaps cause the plane to crash)
- Features: 5/5 (the wings fold, and it has armament)
- Overall: 42/45 (we have a potential winner!)
@LEEEEEX just saying, if you don't want this to be upvoted you should leave it unlisted and then put the link for it in the final version, doing this also makes your posts page less crowded
