@sheepsblood the detacher has 3 connection points, from memory the small bit goes to the plane, the long back has a connection point for the custom missile to attach to.
ive spent ages making sure mine is exactly 11ft, and then ive had a look at some of the entries and most are larger... damn, that extra foot took ages to shave off..
@BlitzBombers just your strange comment, normally it's considered polite when critiquing designs to add detail of what you feel could have been improved rather than just post some childish statement.
@ASDFASDF1 in confused, I've just tested it and from wright to krakabloa I've used 20%, challenge is for something to fly wright to snowstone which this is easily capable of. Actually just got to snowstone and I'm on 60% so have enough fuel to get back... not short ranged at all
@Zippy6 lol, so I've used the fuselage on this build (and it was the bv 215 btw) and built new wings, tail, rear end, altered flap mechanism etc etc. Nothing wrong with that.
shrink a wing panel down to something like 0.2, it retains the same aerodynamic controls as the full size just easier to hide in a fuselage block, have a look at some of my recent builds where ive done just that.
@Rhinower7aeronautics thanks, in regard to speed this quotes the arado speed at 530mph, now mine doesn't do 800mph. I aimed at 560-600. Ground operations are limited, same as the me163 which only had a skid, you can taxy around carefully using the yaw of the rudders but this wasn't ever a consideration as in real life a tractor would be used to get them lined up and removed after operations (no different to natters, komet etc). With regards to landing i didn't design it for rough landing as I didn't see that as part of the brief, I would have just had a skid if the game had life like frictional characteristics. With regards to water landing, I don't think thrust reversal is very 1940s, again if the game had better friction with the ground / water a long run wouldn't happen but I wasn't comfortable cheating it for what was after all a simple build and a secondary "perk". Just my take on those comments. Thanks again.
@Leviatham I had to xml edit them not to auto destruct and increase the fuel, then you get a detached and attach the upright bit to your plane with the rocket on the bottom and voila it works.
I was all for this but then I looked closer, those control surfaces and leading edges... I don't know if anyone has suggested it to you but you can use air intakes to form sharp trailing edges while using inlet angle to give it a nice angle, saves having ugly looking parts that don't match the rest of the build. Just some friendly advice, if u want me to show you or discuss anything just let me know :)
try this, you had fuel in the wings which never helps, it also had an uneven number of windows and a door only on one side and drag / mass enabled on everything, ive disabled the drag and mass on all the windows (barring one on the left, which helps with the autoroll for some reason).
@DrunkenRaider you have drag problems, see here for a partial fix. The leading edges / slats where causing most of the roll. But your plane is built with drag enabled on everything, i was given some advice a while ago to disable drag and mass on everything (not mass on parts attached to rotators) and then add it to controllable parts once finished. It will take too much time to alter everything on your build but the bits ive altered make it less of a problem.
@GhostHTX better than that, id like to be in a challenge that actually gets a result...
@Leviatham no, hence larger part count. Scaled up pieces cause loading delays from my experience.
@Jacksonian07 mby but there's plenty of them on here already.
@Stalinity how are you getting on with the judging of this?
Lots of thin panels with different rise on them and no weight or drag, takes some time and practise, have a look at some of my camo builds.
+1@sheepsblood the detacher has 3 connection points, from memory the small bit goes to the plane, the long back has a connection point for the custom missile to attach to.
@ASDFASDF1 yeah help yourself
@Zippy6 ?
@Stalinity aw, it didnt lag at all on my pc, sorry.
@Irobert55 ah well, i tried, pity no one else bothered though.
ive spent ages making sure mine is exactly 11ft, and then ive had a look at some of the entries and most are larger... damn, that extra foot took ages to shave off..
+2erm its 12.1ft (3.7m) long =)
Fun. Nothing to buy. Just for giggles.
+5@Irobert55 did I win by being the only entry?
@BlitzBombers just your strange comment, normally it's considered polite when critiquing designs to add detail of what you feel could have been improved rather than just post some childish statement.
+1@jamesPLANESii so it's still doing that, most people still don't use that fix and just post broken links, discord works much easier for me :)
@jamesPLANESii imgur doesn't work properly anymore (unless they have fixed it recently), I just use discord.
What about the detacher? If it's not centre of mass of the rocket it also affects the flight (disable drag on it as well)
@ThePrototype ooo I havnt heard a pulsejet since I was a kid.
@Boundslayer select rockets on the ground attack menu, then fire them.
@Boundslayer what doesn't work?
@BlitzBombers ?
@Chancey21 @Spitfirelad05 thanks guys =)
@ASDFASDF1 to snowstone and back, landed with 16% fuel left.
@ASDFASDF1 in confused, I've just tested it and from wright to krakabloa I've used 20%, challenge is for something to fly wright to snowstone which this is easily capable of. Actually just got to snowstone and I'm on 60% so have enough fuel to get back... not short ranged at all
+1@ASDFASDF1 but it doesn't have low fuel... it has one big tank in the did and 2 smaller ones in the wing tips plus other bits of the have fuel in....
@Zippy6 lol, so I've used the fuselage on this build (and it was the bv 215 btw) and built new wings, tail, rear end, altered flap mechanism etc etc. Nothing wrong with that.
@ASDFASDF1 short range? It flies for miles.
@Spitfirelad05 it has outriggers as well, they fold up below the fins.
shrink a wing panel down to something like 0.2, it retains the same aerodynamic controls as the full size just easier to hide in a fuselage block, have a look at some of my recent builds where ive done just that.
Just use the track mod, simples
@Bearclaw189 thanks :)
@Toxicareonuatics you found them Eh? ;)
@iiLikeAirplanez nah, I just enjoy building things myself. Thanks though
@iiLikeAirplanez no worries, enjoy, I've used the ducted fan concept quite a bit.
@randomusername hey, if we are playing like that I'll just have to get more links ;)
+1Or this one
Here is one I made earlier...
All it's missing is my duct from any of my ducted fan builds ;)

@Sgtk :) glad someone figured that out.
@LusK it's your build not mine. Do what you want with it. :)
+1@DrunkenRaider erm click the "see here" bit on the message below.

+1yep, was all @AdlerSteiner s fault. Even after i had 3 in his contest i still keep making them =) Ya das ist gut.

@Spitfirelad05 no it was completely made up as per the artwork, it's similar but this one dropped towards the front
