This is amazing! You managed to make your first upload look like this and I still struggle to get any of my planes to look this good! Wonderfully made and I look forward to all your future aircraft!

@Ylem no worries! I’ll see if I can get a strike fighter made for this

@1472 could you do that after doing a quick 360 no scope though?

  • 1945-1950 Naval Aviation Challenge (Closed) 6.1 years ago

@Bearclaw189 Hey you’re back! I know you like naval aviation so I thought this might interest you. Would you be interested?

  • Fighter-Bomber Challenge [Closed] 6.1 years ago

That’s a tough part count. What year would be too old and when you say max speed 1000-2000mph, does that mean it has to be able to fly faster than 1000 but slower than 2000?

  • Northrop F-89D Scorpion with Airburst Rockets 6.1 years ago

Whoa! These Rockets are incredible! Very nice work on that and cool plane too!

Wow! This is a fantastic looking aircraft. It flies very smooth and is beyond manoeuvrable hahaha. Pretty nice work and lovely cockpit!

  • Naval Aviation Challenge F-36 6.1 years ago

It’s also an incredibly smooth flyer and I love the cockpit. Wonderful work

  • Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat (Naval Challenge) 6.1 years ago

@Brencool35 don’t worry I am too. It really depends on what you’re going for. Sometimes you just want to do hammer heads and other times you want the most realistic aircraft you can get

  • Grumman F9F Panther 6.1 years ago

I also have no problems with the folding wings. They’re very well made!

  • Naval Aviation Challenge F-36 6.1 years ago

Just to let you know, the speed is perfectly fine! For a jet made in the mid to late 1940s 540mph is decent at 12500 ft!

@EngineerFire excellent! I’m looking forward to seeing what you make. The instructions for the challenge are posted on my profile

  • Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat (Naval Challenge) 6.1 years ago

@Brencool35 I would say this one is pretty decent. It wouldn’t be comfortable to turn tightly at max speed and the pilot would probably come close to blacking out but when I do my test it performs well. I put the throttle at 85%, fly to 3000ft and then turn with the stick 90% of the way back. I then see how long it takes for the plane to turn around. This one is slightly too manoeuvrable but it’s better than honestly 90% of the realistic replicas on SP. The hard part about SP planes (for most builds at least) is you have to find the sweet spot between realistic turn rate and fun. People tend to not like planes as much when they don’t turn 360 degrees in less than 10 seconds hahaha. Manoeuvrability is a decent chunk of the challenge but it’s not everything though! This plane is pretty damn realistic overall

@FlyingHueman sure thing! I’m super excited to see the finished product

@Tums well thank you very much! I like to try and help people improve when I see they have them potential. I also really like it when other players give me tips so I try to return the favour to the community. I wouldn’t be good at all if it wasn’t for a few key players who really helped me a couple years ago

  • AA-122 Screat 6.1 years ago

@Diloph no worries that’s fine! I usually put one in my builds too. The fuel burn per mile traveled in SP is very unrealistic for jets so I use both real fuel and a limited weightless fuel block

  • Grumman F9F Panther 6.1 years ago

Very very nice! Thank you for your participation in the challenge!

  • 1945-1950 Naval Aviation Challenge (Closed) 6.1 years ago

    @JolyLoly great to hear!

  • Sealion ('45-'50 Naval Challenge) 6.1 years ago

@RAF1 I agree, it’s very late 40s! I also had that with my last plane I made and I still made it too manoeuvrable, partly because some other users were complaining it wasn’t manoeuvrable enough hahaha.

  • F 12 62 Rhino e 6.1 years ago

Those cannons are so cool! Why don’t you try using some xml parts to make the landing gear move without VTOL? I know you use iOS too but if you need any parts just let me know

  • F 12 97 Death from above 6.1 years ago

You seem to be really good at naval aircraft with those folding wings. You should take part in my naval aviation challenge!
